Dayu's POV
This morning just after breakfast, Quinton dragged me to the save house; or should I say a bunker under the backyard, while Kenneth led the pack members, mostly women and children inside in a hurry.
At first I wasn't completely understand what was going on, but then it became clear that we were under attack. Not from outside, but insiders. The guards who supposed to protect the pack members were freaking attacking us while we tried to go inside the bunker.
One huge gray wolf even tried to jump on me but thankfully Quinton was quick enough to shift into his wolf and kicked his ass mid-air. What the hell were they thinking, attacking their own family like that?
After every members got safely inside, we tried go get them comfortable, which wasn't an easy task. Not that the bunker was uncomfortable; it was big enough to hold hundreds of people and got everything that we possibly need, but the members were tense and the atmosphere was heavy. Children shifted into puppies as they were too stressed out, they were whining and babies were crying as if they knew what was going on. Thank God mum and grandma already went home yesterday, if not I would worry sick for their safety. Anne sat closely beside me, saying nothing; not even a word.
I thought to myself what could I do to calm they down and a brilliant idea popped into my mind. Qing heard me singing once, well after I got Wynter back, and he said I had the most beautiful and soothing voice in the world. I didn't believe him completely as he always sweet talking me, but it won't hurt to try.
I started humming, just a soft wordless melodies that I made up, to help them drift away from the tense aura. As the dulcet tones were floating around the room, I could see some of the tension smoothed away; the rigid expression on their faces relaxing and puppies came shuffling onto my laps. Their whining stopped completely when I started stroking their fur and I stopped humming after they fell asleep.
"Fuck! Why are they here right now?" I heard Kenneth cursed in a whisper when he was observing the situation outside. Quinton pushed him aside and looked outside before he asked, "Do you think they are working together? They planned this all along?" His voice was strained in anger.
I was ready to say something to them when suddenly I felt an immense pain on my back, as if someone stabbed me. "Argh!!" I shrieked, waking up the puppies and they started whining again.
"Ssshh... I'm sorry..." The pain spread throughout my body but pushed myself to move my hands to brush their fur again.
"What happened Dayu? Are you hurt?" Quinton asked me in confusion and worry.
"Qing... Something happens to Qing." I knew my answer confused him more, but I had only Qing in my mind.
>Qing!! Are you okay?< I quickly mind-linked him. But it didn't ease me a bit as he didn't answer me.
I turned to look at Kenneth and Quinton. "Do you know what happens to Qing? I can feel his pain! What if something bad happen to him!? What the hell is happening? Why did the guards attack us?" I was whispering at light speed as I started freaking out.
"Qing told me the rouges are attacking them while they are patrolling. But I don't think rogue attack is the case. The guards turning their back on us and we have vampires outside, cornering us. Our guess was right, there is mole in our pack and they are helping the vampires to come inside our territory." Kenneth said seriously.
Getting my composure back, I nodded my head without saying anything. The vampires wouldn't be able to step inside our territory that easily. A mole, huh? I scanned the bunker and sensed nothing suspicious, but I decided to pursue this matter further. If we had a mole inside this bunker, it won't end good for us all.
