Chapter 25 : New Ability

Qing's POV

I actually wanted to propose Dayu in a romantic way, not in peanut's nursery room with a knock knock joke. But the atmosphere was right and I just thought it was the right time. If only Jedd and Papa weren't there to tease us. I sighed out loud, making Dayu snapped his head at me.

"What are you making? Is that whipped cream? Why are you freezing them?" Oh yeah, I was in the middle of preparing my dessert for tonight.

"It's our dessert." I said shortly as I put dollops of whipped cream inside the freezer, not wanting to tell Dayu more. Dayu only nodded in confusion.

The rest of the day was pretty slow and peaceful. Dayu called the school to tell them he could start to teach again from next week; he actually wanted to start tomorrow but I was able to coax him. I informed the school last week about Dayu's condition and they were really nice. They kept telling me to tell them if I need help, such a nice people

After we had lunch, I forced Dayu to rest. He just woke up and he already full of energy. He even told me he wanted to drive to his apartment to take his clothes for this week, of course I didn't let him. We could do that tomorrow! Why should he do everything today? And of course he was out as soon as his head touched the pillow.

While he was sleeping, I was preparing a candle light dinner for us, to make up for the last one. And anyway, we hadn't put the rings on our finger, so this was the right moment to have the romantic dinner.

I was at the pantry when Ajax suddenly howled angrily in my head. Then I smelled it; vampires. What the fuck did they want now?! The king had been killed! Didn't they got the message to not bother my mate anymore? And how did they got in without anybody noticing?

I was running upstairs to our room when I heard glass shattered. I swung open the door and I saw three vampires inside. Dayu was half awake from the loud sounds. The window was broken into pieces, scattered beside the bed. One of them was baring his fangs at Dayu ready to bite him, while the other two came flying at me.

My soul vexed; the blood rushing to my head until I felt the veins in my forehead nearly exploded. That was when I suddenly felt an enormous power flowing through my body.

"Dayu!!" I screamed his name as I ran to his direction, ready to punch the vampires that blocking me. But all of a sudden the vampires stopped, literally stupefied. Their turned into stone starting from their feet up to the last strand of their hair.

As it happened in the matter of second, I couldn't stop my punch on time. I smacked one vampire in the face and break his head to pieces. My fist bled as I just punched some stone. It was throbbing painfully but the confusion covered it up.

I looked at Dayu, wanting to ask what happened, but he also wore a confused expression. "You did that?" I asked Dayu, pointing at the vampires.

"No, I can't change people into statues. You did that!" He said as he pushed the vampire statue that grabbed wrist. It fell backwards to the floor hard and broke into pieces. "How did you do that?"

"I don't know, I just felt so powerful all of a sudden and I thought to myself in a millisecond it would be great if I could stop the time. But the time didn't stop, instead they turned into stones." Dayu was silent, I guessed he was now talking to Wynter.

Then I continued, "I just remember, one time when I interrogated Damon Black, something similar happened. I felt a calming energy rushing inside me and as if he was under spell, he spit out all the information I needed."

"That's actually siren ability. You have my ability!" Dayu said half screaming, excitedly. Too excited as if the vampires didn't just attack us minutes ago. Then he clapped his hands and said, "Maybe our ability mixed when we mated but neither of us noticed that?"
