Stein's POV:

Alex sat frozen in confusion. He looked around the torn up room with a look of utter disbelief.

"There's no way. I always remember when I shift." Alex looked extremely disappointed in himself.

"What got into you?" Lee snapped. "You hurt Max!"

I placed my hand on Lee's shoulder in an attempt to I calm him down. "Alex. Go change your clothes and come down to my office."

Alex grabbed another hoodie and a pair of pants from the laundry basket on the floor, and followed me to the study.

We descended down the stairs and into my office. I took a seat at my desk, and Alex sat in my only guest chair. He looked frustrated, almost angry sitting there.

"What happened?" I asked.

He ran his hand through his hair. "I don't know. I don't remember."

"We need to figure this out, Alex."

"I'm telling you I don't know what happened! I'm sorry about the damage, I'm sorry for the room-"

"It's not about te room Alex! Everything in there can be replaced, people can't!" I was starting to lose my temper. "You need to control your attitude, and your mood. For right now I'm giving you a room to yourself so that you can calm down."

"Yes, sir."

Alex went back upstairs with the others. Meanwhile, I called Thomas down to my office. Thomas was always there for me. After my parents passed and my brother and I took over as leaders of the Inhuman world, he showed nothing but support. He was like a second father to me. I trusted him with my life.

"You called, sir?" He asked as he walked through the door.

Obviously he could see the concern on my face, because he immediately asked me "what's the matter?"

"I'm worried. I'm afraid for these kids." I leaned back in my chair. "I need advice."

"Well, sir, I honestly don't know what else to tell you. You know what happened to them in that facility, and you also know who abandoned them. You need to have a word with Jeremiah."

I haven't spoken to him in months. We used to be extremely close, but lately our different views on leadership and society have pulled us apart.

"Thomas give him a call and invite him over tomorrow. We'll talk over dinner."

"Yes, sir."

The night was over and day was quick to arrive. I didn't sleep last night (not that I needed to) but still felt wide awake. Today Jeremiah was coming over and I was way too anxious about it.

I ran up the stairs to wake up the kids when our young butler, Joshua stopped me. "The students are awake and breakfast will be ready soon, sir."

I nodded and headed back down the stairs to wait in the dining room. Not long afterwards, the kids entered and took their seats at the table. Though she might not have looked like it, I could see that Lucy was feeling miserable. If she didn't feed soon, she could end up like Alex.

"I have an important announcement to make." I began, earning everyone's attention. "My brother, Jeremiah is visiting me tonight. While he's here, you all must stay upstairs. Please stay away from him."

Everyone nodded.

Soon enough, breakfast was served and a wine glass of blood was placed in front of me. As I took a sip, I felt my fangs piercing my lip. I took a long swig of my drink and instantly felt my self relax. The kids ate away at the pancakes my chef provided, and decided to stay and hang out with me at the dining table.
