Royce's POV
I called Rodney to come and pick me up at Lilly's house. I said goodbye to Lilly when Rodney came.
"How was your date?" Rodney smirked.
"It was not a date" I said getting in the truck.
"If you say so" D'lesly laughed.
"We're going to Navy Pear tomorrow" Rodney said.
"Yeah I know, I invited Lilly to come" I said.
"You owe me $10" D'Lesly said to Rodney laughing.
"You guys betted?" I said.
"Yeah" Rodney said handing D'lesly $10.
"Wow" I said not even amused by it.
"We all know you like Lilly" Rodney said.
"You say it like it's a bad thing" I said.
"Naw bro, we just think it's surprising, you're always with different types of girls, not saying that Lilly isn't gorgeous, she is, but personality wise you get me?" D'lesly.
"Right! When have you ever dated a gorgeous girls with a brain?" Rodney said.
"First of all we are not dating, second, you guys still don't know her like I do to judge on personality" I said.
"Ok let's re phrase everything we just said" D'lesly said, "Lilly isn't famous that's one, two, she's pretty independent if you ask me, three, you always date girls that can have the bitchy attitude, Stephanie, four, she's just different, from everyone, Eme, Stephanie, all of them, AND, she treats you like a regular person"
"I like different and I know, that's what I love about her" I said smiling.
"I think she's just a little reserved around us, she barely knows us, but once she does, she'll loosen up" Rodney said.
"She has the mysterious vibe, it makes her sexy in a way" I said smiled just thinking about Lilly, I heard both Rodney and D'lesly snicker.
"What ever happened to Eme?" Rodney said.
He had to bring her up...
"I thought that was a closed subject" I said not even wanting to think about her right now.
"Sorry bro, it's only been a month" Rodney said.
"Yeah well I don't want to talk about it" I said.
Rodney acknowledged me from the rear view mirror and nodded, Eme was someone real special in my life, but all good things come to an end somehow.
When we arrived at our hotel which was in downtown Chicago. I didn't even say goodnight to Brenda and my sister, I went straight to my room and climbed my bed, I was too tired.
{Next Morning}
Everyone woke up at around 11, I checked my phone and I had a few text messages from Lilly. I couldn't hide my smile as I opened them. She actually texted me!
'Hey! 😊 Good morning! What time are we going to Navy Pear?'
'Morning beautiful 😎❤️ everyone just got up so about in an hour we'll be over at your place!' I texted.
I left my phone to charge and got in the hot steamy shower. When I got out, I checked the weather for the day.
25 degrees is way better then yesterday's 10!
My usual routine went on, I got in my jeans, put on my boots, a comfy sweater and did my hair 'the Royce' 😏
And same as always the girls, always took longer then ever. While waiting, I got a text from Lilly.
