Chapter 9: Dinner

Chapter 9

Third Person POV

"It's a date! It's a date!!" Royce kept singing in his head.

He was acting pretty ridiculous over one girl, or at least his head.

"Where have you two been" Shanelli twinkled her eyebrows at her brother. Everyone knows that Royce is having some pretty serious interest in Lilly.

"Nothing" Lilly smiled, "It just got too crowded in there"

"Ahh! Well dinner's going to be served" Shanelli said still looking her brother trying to hide her smirk.

"I'll go wash my hands" Lilly said starting to blush, Shanelli was not so great at hiding what she was seeing between the two.

Shanelli smiled as Lilly left with a blush on her face and turned to her brother and smirked.

"What Nelli" Royce shook his head.

"Oh nothing, I'm just glad to see you're happy... Really" Shanelli smiled sincerely.

Royce was surprised at her response, he thought she would tell him an 'I told you so' or 'Just ask her out already.'

"Why so surprised?" She said.

"Do I seem like it?" He questioned.

"Yes! Duh! You are smiling everyday, and she seems like a really nice girl" she said, "I'm assuming by your face that you don't want to talk about Eme"

"Don't even mention her right now" Royce scoffed.

"Sorry, sorry" Shanelli walked behind her brother trying to catch up with him, "Ok I get it, sorry, but really tell me, it's only been a few days and your are head over heels here"

"Wrong" Royce said, "I just don't know how to describe it, I like her... A LOT, but I'm not at that stage yet of 'head over heels' Nelli porfavor" Royce laughed softly.

She laughed softly along with her brother, "The way I see it, you will be"

Royce shook his head in amusement at his sisters words, "If you say so, I go back to Miami in a few days"

He just realize the reality of his words, he will be in Miami in just a few days, and Lilly back to college.... How were they ever gonna see each other again or hangout?

"Reality struck ya" Shanelli said.

"Yeah..."

"Keep in contact with her, I know I will!" She smiled.

"Easy for you" Royce said.

"Oh come on don't be so negative, you'll see her again, just appreciate these few last days with her" She said.

"Yeah I know, I'm going to take her to the movies tomorrow to see one of her favorite broadway musicals" Royce smiled.

"You? Broadway?"Shanelli tried to hide away her laughter.

"Don't judge, I might like it, it sounds interesting" he smiled.

"Well whatever, just have fun" she gave Royce an encouraging hug, "Let's go inside"

They walked inside the boat and took their seats at a round dinner table with everyone, but one person was missing, Lilly.

Lilly was currently still in the bathroom washing her hands, but putting cold water on her forehead to cool down. Her blush made her body heat up as well.

"Holy shit" she told herself, "I'm going crazy around this guy" she kept putting cold water on her face and kept fanning her self to cool down. "I was in his arms? What the hell Lilly, guys are off limits" she looked at herself in the mirror, she realized she's was being ridiculous. "I'm stupid" she shook her head and went off to the dinner table. She also made sure to leave her thoughts behind, and focused on having a good day.

"Hey Lilly! Sit down!" Shanelli pointed to the seat next to her, which was also next to Royce's.

"Thanks" she smiled and sat down.

The waiters were coming around with plates, everyone had already chosen a dish, and Lilly ordered what she wanted at that time.

The table and the dining hall itself already was filled with chatter. Lilly was more open this time when Royce's family would ask her questions about herself, everyone wanted to get to know her, it was like a magnet, she seemed so interesting.

"So you're not doing the type of journalism Jelli is doing" Brenda said.

"No I really could care less about being in a red carpet interviewing stars, well not that much, I would do it occasionally I guess, I want to cover other types of stories" Lilly smiled.

"Like being in the news?" Shanelli said.

"Yeah something like that, I rather travel the world and and discover things that matter rather then writing on what Kim Kardashian wore to the red carpet or whatever that family does or gossip"

Everyone in the table laughed. What was going through all of their heads was the same: she's awesome and different.

"Oh my god Lilly I love you!" Shanelli smiled, "But where do you plan on going after graduation?"

"I want to travel first to Africa see what I can discover write it and maybe get it published into Time Magazine or something, maybe India next, the Philippines, the Middle East, anywhere, there's always an adventure anywhere" she smiled.

Royce smiled every time she spoke and so did everyone else in the table, today has shown them that there's more to a person then just their appearance. Lilly was a beautiful girl without a doubt, but a pretty girl who viewed life differently then the average person or girl at her age. For a girl who was only 21 years old, she could care less about 'turning up', going to clubs, drama in general, worrying about how good she looked or not, but, adventurous, exploring new cultures, writing, history, and art.

She wanted to explore all seven wonders of the world if she could, meet the Queen of England, kiss Prince William without Kate looking, travel to important history sites and battles, help those in need get their message out for help, and document her journey--she was really incredible. Those are not the goals of many young people these days.

To Royce, already she was becoming perfect. His family looked at him and the 'love struck' expression he had on his face. This girl was certainly once in a life time person, and not that all to herself like she seemed before, she has goals that she's chasing after.

"You know life is a gift, and I don't intend on waisting it and--" Lilly said.

That's it's-- Royce was sold. She is amazing.
