Chapter 16

"Is the storm over?" Royce and I had finished his 'apology' breakfast to me, and honestly I didn't want our last few hours together to be awkward, considering what happened yesterday. He got up to check from the kitchen window and turned back to me. "Yeah! It's flurries now, I'll go dig out your car." Wait what? I didn't ask him to go ahead and do that, only if the storm was over.

"Umm.." Before I could say anything else, he was already out the door, and I noticed he took my keys too to take the shovels out of the trunk. Ok? Why? It's not that I don't appreciate it or anything, I just feel he's taking this whole apology thing seriously. I jogged to my closet in my room to get my coat and put on my boots to help him outside. I also made sure to get an extra pair or gloves and a scarf for him. I knew I was right as soon as I opened the door, letting the cold breeze sending shivers to my whole body. I stepped down the stairs slowly so I wouldn't fall and look like an idiot, it's happened before.

Royce was already getting a head start by the bumper. I could see his flushed red cheeks and the his hands looking almost like icicles. "Hey!" I made my way over to him cautiously so I wouldn't slip. "Here" I caught up with him, he stopped shoveling to face me all the while he tried to warm his hands, "Why would you step into the coldness with no scarf" I grabbed the scarf and wrapped it around his neck making sure to get his red icy ears. He would stop looking at my face either while I tried to wrap it around him, I didn't like it, I felt like he could see right through me, "Don't ever step out to shovel without gloves too" I told him handing the gloves over. If I didn't come sooner, his hands would have gotten blue.

"Thanks Lilly" His smile was sincere and it made me blush just a little, I could feel it. It's the dimples I swear! He handed me the other shovel and I put my muscles to work in the front part of my car. If you've ever shoveled a car out of the snow, you know it's a real work out. I was already starting to feel all warm inside my coat, but the cold air was killing my throat from inhaling the coldness. I passed my hand over my face to put my hair aside, more like my lion mane of hair.

If your Dominican, you would know that your hair makes a great ear muffer when it's cold outside. That's why I let it down, and on a side note, Dominicanas can rock a heck of a lion mane for sure!

My shovel came into contact with Royce's in the side of the car. We looked at each other for a moment and laughed it off. He took a portion part and I took the other, I couldn't help but to look at him, my mind wondered off into last night. I think I couldn't be able to look at him the same now, I don't know if he feels the same way about it too.

You have to admit it Lilly, a part of you loved it. It was so intense, holy fuck man, he made me reach heights that have never been explored before, and it wasn't even sex, what the hell? How can one man do that?

"I know that look" My head turned off it's thoughts and I glanced to Royce who had a slight little smirk threatening to come out. "What look?" I shook my head.

"You thinking about me look" he winked at me. Miralo, se cree mucho. But you were thinking about him pendeja. See what I mean, I feel he can see right through me. "Whatever you say Geoffrey" I shrugged it off hoping it was convincible enough.

We finished shoveling the snow from around my car into the side walk and brushing the snow off the car. "Go inside, I'll put it away, it's too cold out here" He took my keys and the shovel from my hands to put them in the trunk. I slowly walked back to the steps and waited for him at the entrance. After he shut the trunk close, he turned around to walk back into the apartment, but he stopped to look straight ahead. I followed his gaze and saw nothing, and I was getting colder by the second, at least the winds weren't howling, but still.
