Chapter 10

Royce's POV

After the boat ride yesterday, I went back to my hotel with the biggest smile on my face, after dropping off Lilly. Chicago is such a beautiful city, I'll never forget my experience here. It's definitely one for the books!

Lilly is the type of person to be friends with. She'll be the one to set you straight and give you the best advice when you need it. I know because she was starting to get close with both Shanelli and Brenda yesterday after dinner. Basically all girl stuff and their problems, when it comes to romance and all. Brenda because she's getting nervous, pre wedding jitters before she finally marries Rodney. Shanelli because of the whole distance issue with D'Lesly, since she's in college too with lots of studying, she can't go with him to his gigs to support him all the time.

I take it that Lilly just has a whole different philosophy on life it's self. It's like she's been through every type of situation, because it seems like she's lived through it. That part of her life, I don't know, but you know what they all say, the most damaged people, are the wisest, and by the way she expresses those thoughts, you can see the emotion in her eyes, it wasn't the best for her.

I don't know how, but I'm just the master in body language, I can tell with just the look of her eyes, she's been through something depressing, but the way she moves and her outside body language, I can tell she tries to hide it.

I have an idea of what it might be, I remember the other day when I asked her if her parents payed for her college and she said no and held back her tears. So I'm assuming her parents divorced...

I know the feeling... It fucks you up completely.

You'll probably never be the same as you were before it happened because life took a whole 360 degree turn.

As much as I want to talk about it and see what really bothers her, I can't. It's too personal, and Lilly being Lilly will just hide it all and keep it bottled inside.

Now today I promised her to take her to the movies to watch Les Miserables, Rodney had dropped me off. It was a nice beautiful today with the sun shinning as it snowed.

"Hey!" She greeted me with her beautiful smile.

"Hey!" I came in and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

She closed the door behind us and told me to take a sit and get comfortable while I waited. I took the time to admire all of the pictures she had hanged up on her walls. There were various ones of her and two guys goofing off, it seemed like her friends. There were some if her and Jelli when they were younger and now, but my attention was stuck to the one of her quinceañera, she looked like a princess dressed in an aqua dress.

"Watcha doing?" She said coming back out buttoning a vest.

"Looking at your pictures!" I smiled, "Who are they?" I said pointing to various pictures of her and the two guys goofing off.

"My friends or bestest college buddies!" She smiled widely just looking at the pictures of them, "That's Luis Miguel, he's bi, and that's Angel" she pointed to each of their faces. "They make me crack up all of the time, their funny!"

"And the three of you go to Northwestern together?" I said.

"Yeah! You should meet them! You'll be dying of laughter, but maybe not"

"Why not?!" I looked at her amused.

"Because Luis Miguel will probably develop the hugest crush on you pretty boy!" She laughed, since he's bisexual and all.

"Uhhh.."

"Relax it's not like you will, you go back to Miami anyways" she said and I noticed a hint of sadness in her voice.
