Bandit's POV

We were in school the next day. I was still worried about what Billie thought of me now. He was just so pushy on Sunday. Mike got to asking Billie before me though, "You okay BJ? You're not yourself today?"

"Stepmonster and my mom took away my life yesterday," Billie admitted.

"Like they did Freshmen year?" Mike questioned.

"Exactly," Billie nodded.

"So it's just your stepdad that's got you? Nothing else?" I cut in.

"Yeah, I wanna still be with you guys outside of school but y'know," he shrugged, "I'm gonna be in deep shit for a while."

"I'm sorry Beej," I told him.

"Me too man, he take Blue again?" Mike asked.

"He was going to but I put Blue with Bandit," Billie answered.

"Smart," Mike nodded.

"Perfectly safe with me," I assured him.

Billie smiled at me, "within a few weeks they'll probably give me a small bit of leeway. It won't be much but I'll have a curfew instead of school then home."

"We'll just have to survive without ya," Mike sighed.

"Difficult task," I added.

"Wait," Mike looked at me. We were thinking the same thing.

"We did it the whole school year!" Mike and I said in unison.

"Very funny you two," we finally got a laugh out of Billie. The bell rang and we all got up.

"See you after school," I smiled at them.

"Bye," Mike said.

"Bye," Billie told me and kissed my cheek.

The last bell rang and the guys met up with me at my locker. We left the school, Billie did not want to go home. "You got homework?" I asked him.

"Yeah," he sighed.

"Do your homework and take your time! Then you'll do better on it and you'll have something to do," I instructed.

"Yes ma'am," Billie nodded. Mike and I walked him to his house. "I thought school was bad," Billie sighed.

"You'll be fine," Mike slapped his back then gave him a hug.

"See ya in the morning, I'll keep Blue tuned up," I hugged him.

"Thanks," he said and kissed me.

"Bye," I squeezed his hand before walking off with Mike.

"Bye guys," Billie said then went into his house.

"I never knew his stepdad was so strict," I told Mike.

"He's moody, sometimes he'll keep Billie locked up and other times he could care less if he's dead or alive," Mike explained.

"What about his mom?" I asked.

"His mom will always side with her husband," Mike sighed.

"Wow, I never knew," I looked down at my feet.

"Don't feel bad Bandit, he doesn't know about John well he knows part of it but not all of it," he put his arm around me.

"He knows now," I told him.

"Since when?!" He asked.

"Saturday night," I answered.

"How?" He asked.

"Um skipping the details, I had a breakdown and told him," I said.

"After the party I'm assuming," he continued.

"Yeah," I sighed.

"How'd he take it?" He asked.

"Similar to you," I shrugged, "I thought I scared him off but it turns out I didn't."

"You didn't, I'll talk to him to make sure though," he assured me.

"It's gonna be hard to talk to him now," I pointed out.

"Eh, I have my ways," he laughed.

"Oh?" I looked up at him.

"He's my best friend, it's not that hard," he told me.

"Yeah," I shrugged.

"Come on cheer up, we'll go grab Tré and get burritos," we turned down my street.

"Good with me," I smiled.
