We had been working on this project for about a few days now. To my surprise, Hoseok could rap and sing. The man really had more talent than I originally had realized. Jungkook also had a gorgeous singing voice. His rapping skills weren't quite as good, but he could still spit some fire. I hate myself for saying that.
"Can we put something in the background during the bridge here to make it different?" Hoseok leaned close to my chair, making me feel slightly uncomfortable, but I didn't want to be rude and tell him to back off.
I messed around for a few minutes with the background sound until Hoseok shouted. "That's it! That's the sound that I want." He held a hand up to high-five me, but dropped it a moment later when I didn't reciprocate. He rubbed the back of his nape awkwardly. "Sorry, uh, anyway, it sounds good."
I nodded. "It sounds great; however, what if we were to add this?" I played a short excerpt of the song, listening to the scratching on the vinyl record in the transition.
Hoseok's face lit up. "That is genius! God, I'm glad I'm working with you, Yoongi."
"It's a good song, Hoseok. I think it's really sweet that you wrote a song about your mom."
Hoseok sat down on the couch in my studio, a weak smile on his lips. "Thank you. She-" He took a deep breath. "She was my favorite person on the planet."
"Was?" My eyebrows furrowed as I prepared myself for what Hoseok would say.
"She, uh, well, she passed away last year."
My smile faltered slightly. "I'm so sorry."
He shrugged. "She was sick for a long time. I said my goodbye, so it doesn't hurt quite as bad."
"It will always hurt," I whispered gently, looking down at my hands in my lap. My fingernails were worn down from biting them.
Hoseok whipped his head in my direction. "H-how do you know?"
I chewed on my bottom lip, faintly tasting blood. My brain was racing in an attempt to avoid discussing it. "I just have heard, you know, from friends."
Hoseok nodded, but his eyes showed that he knew I was lying. He must've decided not to press the issue. He checked the time on his watch, and smiled. "Say, Yoongi! We've been at this for hours now, want to go out and grab dinner?"
I smiled at the thought of going out to eat with Hoseok. "I guess, sure."
"Fantastic!" Hoseok leapt up and clapped his hands before skipping out of my studio. I let out a hefty chuckle before following him. He was waiting for me at the end of the hallway after running ahead. I was too lazy to run, so I was glad to see that he was nice enough to let me catch up.
"So, where are we going to eat?" I asked as Hoseok walked next to me on the sidewalk.
He shrugged. "Jungkook told me about this incredible lamb skewer place that we could try out?"
I smiled, a full-blown gummy smile. "I love lamb skewers, so that sounds perfect."

I inhaled the amazing scent of lamb skewers as we entered the small shop. I admired the quaint appearance, and the quiet atmosphere. As I was walking to a table, I spot a familiar silhouette. "Jungkook?"The said male turned around in his seat and smiled at Hoseok and I. "Hey hyungs! I see Hoseok took my suggestion and took you here, huh?"
I nodded. "Mind if we sit here? Is that okay with you, Hoseok?"
Hoseok nodded, although the smile he wore now was not as lively as the one he had earlier. We took the two seats across from Jungkook. Hoseok hadn't said a single word since we walked into the shop, and I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable at the awkwardness.
"So, you like lamb skewers, Yoongi?" Jungkook shoveled some food in his mouth after speaking.
"I love them. I used to eat them all the time when I was younger." I felt my heart drop as I reminisced to my childhood, but I immediately shook off the feeling. I couldn't go down that rabbit (bunny? Lol) hole right now.
"Really? Me too! I used to have a dream about opening a lamb skewer restaurant."
Hoseok scoffed, his arms crossed over his chest. "Really, Jungkook? A lamb skewer restaurant? Why didn't you do that instead of working at Big Hit?"
I was shocked at the kind of rude comment made by Hoseok, but shrugged it off when Jungkook answered. "Because I didn't have the money or the expertise in the lamb skewer department. Maybe when I want to retire."
"You're like twelve, you shouldn't be talking about retiring yet." Hoseok let a small chuckle escape his lips, making me feel better about the situation.
"Hey! I am twenty years old, thank you!" Jungkook pouted, his chubby cheeks poking out, making him look even more like a bunny.

The walk back to Big Hit was silent. Jungkook had left us after a bit, needing to go train the new employee, who happened to be Taehyung. I was ecstatic that Taehyung was working at the same company as me.We rounded the corner, the Big Hit building coming into sight when Hoseok finally spoke up. "Are you okay if we call it quits for the day on the song? I have some dances I need to work on."
"We got a lot done today and we've almost finished the song, so I don't see why not."
Hoseok held the door of the building to me, and I nodded my thanks. "You're welcome to come and watch me dance, if you would like." I smiled at the thought of watching Hoseok dance, but this time in a non-creepy way.
"I would love to."
Hoseok chuckled as he walked alongside me to the dance studios. "You can sit anywhere against the wall." He sauntered to the speakers, plugging his phone in, about to start playing the music when the door to the studio opened once more. Hoseok smiled widely at the person who entered. I recognized him as the shorter male who often danced with Hoseok.
"Yoongi?" I was taken out of my thoughts when Hoseok waved a hand in front of my face, calling my name.
"Yes?"
Hoseok motioned for the shorter male to come over. I couldn't help but notice the faint smirk on the other's face, although I wasn't sure why.
It all made sense once we were introduced to each other. The male held a hand out for me to shake, which I took. "Hi there! The name is Park Jimin."

Mmmmm spicy. We got a tad glimpse at jealous Hoseok in this chapter. 😉
