Hoseok and I stared at each other in complete silence for what felt like hours. My mind couldn't help but ponder what I look like right now, tear-stained face and puffy eyes.
Hoseok finally made the first move, clearing his throat before speaking. "Are you okay?"
I couldn't help but admire how cute he looked when flustered. His cheeks were flushed, and his hand rubbed the back of his neck nervously. I took in a deep breath, releasing it through my nose. "I'm okay now. Sorry about that, I just was, uh, caught off guard."
He tilted his head slightly before nodding. "Yeah, sorry. Jimin can be a bit... forward sometimes. I told him he needs to chill the hell out for you though, next time you're with us in the studio."
I couldn't contain my smile. There is going to be a next time? I could feel my heart doing backflips. God, I barely knew the man and he already has me going insane. "Thank you."
Hoseok laughed, and it was music to my ears. How I wish I could just have his laugh on loop to listen to whenever he isn't around.
"Could I ask you something?"
Hoseok smiled at me before nodding for me to go ahead and ask. I paused for a second before speaking. "When Tae introduced himself, you seemed to have heard his name already. Why is that?" It may seem like a stupid question, but I'm nosy and I hate being kept out of the loop. I couldn't hold the question in any longer.
Thankfully, Hoseok just laughed again. "Jungkook has mentioned him. He helped train Taehyung actually."
Once again, my curiosity got the best of me. I scratched my forehead, despite not having an itch. "What did Jungkook say?"
Hoseok smirked before leaning forward. I could feel his warm breath on my skin. My pulse automatically quickened. "He thinks your friend is cute, that's all. I haven't heard anything else but that, I swear." He leaned back and held his arma up in defense.
I let a smile slip as I looked directly in his eyes. "You know, Taehyung told me about this guy he finds cute in the art department. I wonder if it's Jungkook?"
Hoseok's eyes sparkled as he jumped up from his chair, dancing around the room and screaming before settling back down in the chair. "We should set them up. We can do the whole clichè 'double date and bring a friend' thing!"
I almost choked on my saliva. "D-double date?"
Hoseok nodded. "Yeah! We go on a date, but to make it less awkward, we each bring a friend. You bring Taehyung, I'll bring Kookie. It's perfect! Of course, us two won't actually be on a date, but they don't have to know that."
I tried to mask the pain I felt with another smile. I could feel my heart drop into the pit of my stomach at his words. Oh, how I had hoped he would consider it a real date. "Um, sure. When should we do it?"
Hoseok pulled out his phone and checked his schedule, with me doing the same. I also had Taehyung's schedule saved on my phone, so we scanned our calendars until finally settling on a date. "We're off-schedule for the next few weeks except for tonight. And I happen to know that Jungkook doesn't have plans. It's perfect." Hoseok was bursting with excitement, while I continued to wear the mask I had become so accustomed to wearing.
"We can go to that lamb skewer place! Tae has been wanting to try it, and it's still casual enough."
Hoseok high-fived me. "Hell yes! Okay, I'll go tell Kookie, you tell Tae!" And with that, Hoseok ran out of my studio, leaving me to wallow in my own despair for a minute before I forced myself to stand up, walking toward the art department, which was on the floor below me.
The second I saw Taehyung's face, I felt better. He can calm me down by just sitting next to me, something I admire greatly. The second he saw me, he set down the pen he was using. "Hey Tae. Long time no see!" We chuckled at my lame attempt of a joke.
"What are you doing here, Yoongibear?"
"First off, never call me that again. Second, how would you feel about doing me a favor?" I gave him the best smile I could muster in an attempt to suck up a little.
He giggled. "You look like a creepy plastic doll when you smile like that." My lips instantly formed a pout. "What's the favor?"
"I have a, uh, date tonight. And we were hoping to take some of the pressure off us by making it a double date. How would you feel about tagging along? Hoseok will bring a friend too."
Taehyung hummed in thought while he picked up his pen and started sketching with it again. "I don't know, Yoongi... You know I am awkward."
I scoffed. "Less awkward than me." I back hugged him, placing my chin on his shoulder. "Please, Tae. Maybe he'll be super hot and you can find yourself a man. Plus, we're going to the new lamb skewer place, and I'll pay for you!"
Taehyung's eyes went wide. "Deal! As long as you pay!"
I made a cross over my heart. "I swear to you, I will pay. We're meeting them at 6:30."
"This guy better be smoking hot, Yoongi."
I winked at him as I walked away. "Trust me, you'll be surprised."
