Dally's In a Fight

A/N: This is the part in the book where Tim is looking for Dally and they fight. I used some stuff from the book and movie. Once again, all rights reserved to S.E. Hinton. I do not own The Outsiders.

Dally's POV

Today I went to the movies with Pony and Johnny and there was a real cute redhead! I decided to try and pick her up.

*"Are you a real redhead?" I began.

I could hear Johnny and Pony tryin' to tell me to cut it out, but I ain't takin' advice from a bunch of kids! The redhead got more and more mad until she yelled at me.

*"GET LOST HOOD!"

That still didn't stop me. I tried to buy her a Coke and she threw it at my face. Damn, she was feisty! I still kept trying to win her 'till Johnny finally yelled at me. I was pretty surprised and pissed. Then I left in a fit of rage. That damn little kid doesn't tell me what to do! He's lucky I didn't bash his face in! I began to walk to Buck's. I knew he was throwing a pretty awesome party tonight. But then I saw Tim.

"Son of a..." I started. I knew he was lookin' for me. I slashed his tires and well, it ain't fun gettin' in fights with Tim. Luckily, he plays fair if you play fair, and that's the route I was takin'. I didn't want to hide all night so I drank a lot of beer and walked right up to him.

"Hey Tim! You like the present I left ya?" I laughed.

"You're an asshole, Dally. I'm gonna fight ya! Right here, right now."

"Fine! I ain't scared of you!"

There was a lot more swearing and yelling, but then Tim took a swing at me and the fight began. It wasn't that bad, really. I hit Tim in the nose, causing it to break again. I laughed hard. I was drunk and the room was spinnin'. Then he hit me hard in the ribs. A few times. Damn, did that hurt! He bruised them-maybe even broke them-but good! The fight went on for a bit. A crowd began to draw 'round us. Then it ended. I don't know who won, and I was too drunk to care. But Christ! I was in pain! I went upstairs to try and sleep it off. I don't know if I passed out or what, but next thing I know, Buck was shakin' me saying that there were some kids-Pony and Johnny wantin' to see me.
