"So, do you like him?" My friend asked me.

"No! We're just friends! You ask me this everyday!"

Okay I might have been lying. I did have a small crush on my best friend Johnny Cade.

"Sure," she smirked. "I got to go sorry. I'll see you later!"

I was all alone so I decided to go see Johnny. He was probably in the lot. When I got there, the lot was empty.

"Johnny?" I called. It was silent. I guess he was at the Curtis house. I decided to walk over there when I heard a noise. It sounded like a groan. It was coming from behind the couch. I walked over and saw 5 Socs jumping Johnny.

"Hey! Leave him alone!" The Socs turned to me.

"Look at that. He's got a girlfriend! Lets get her too!" The Socs moved toward me. I pulled out my switchblade. It seemed like some of the gang sensed what was going on and showed up. Dally, Two-Bit and Steve were over in an instant.

"It's still 5 against 4," the Socs snarled.

"We have Dallas Winston." Two said. The Socs turned to look at Dally. They ran. Dal chased after.

"That's right! Run you chickens! You little," he went on to call them every name in the book.

I approached Johnny. "Are you okay?" I asked.

"I've been better."

I helped him up and took him to my place.

"Do you want some food? Something to drink?"

"I'm fine, thank you." I sat down next to him. "What happened?"

"I was just hanging out in the lot when these Socs came and just attacked me. I didn't do anything! They just came over and began to hurt me!" He had tears in his eyes.

I hugged him. "It's all over now. Don't worry."

"Ariana?"

"Yes?"

"You're very pretty."

"Thanks!"

I smiled at him. He began to move closer and closer to me until our lips touched. I pulled away. "Johnny! What about our friendship? If we break up, then-" he cut me off.

"I think we can risk it. Do you want to be my girl?"

"I'd love to."

And I've been his girl ever since.
