Ponyboy Imagine For Mariela

I was bored, so I decided to head over to the Curtis house. Pony was my best friend and we read Gone With The Wind together. I also had a little crush on Pony.

I walked into the Curtis house and headed to the living room, where I got a surprise. Pony and Cherry were sitting together, his arm around her. My heart broke. Pony looked up and smiled, oblivious to my feelings.

"Hey Mariela! Do you want to hang out with us?"

Cherry looked up and smiled too. "Mariela! What a nice surprise!" Cherry and I have known each other for a while (I'm middle class), so we're cool with each other.

"Do you want to read with us?" Asked Pony.

"Of course I do!" I said, half joking, half serious. "It's reading day!"

"Oh yeah! Sorry I forgot! I hope you don't mind that Cherry's here. She's my girl now."

"Of course not! We're cool." In reality I was pretty upset.

We all read for a while, but Pony and Cherry would kiss every so often. After a bit, I've had enough kissing, so I excused myself to the bathroom.

When I came back, Cherry was gone.

"Cherry left, if you're wonderin'." Said Pony.

"Why?"

"It's a long story. We're over now." He didn't seem upset.

"Oh! Okay then. Want to keep reading?"

"Yeah."

I began to read. I felt Pony's eyes on me.

"Something wrong, Pony?"

"No."

"You're staring at me."

"I know."

"Pony, you're creeping me out! Tell me what's going on."

"I like you a lot. The reason Cherry and I are over are because I like you. I'd rather be with you. I love the caramel tips of your hair and your glasses. You're so nice! You are the perfect girl. So what do you think, will you be my girl?"

I smiled. This was what I wanted. "I'd love to Ponyboy."

He leaned in a kissed me. I felt the fireworks go off.

"Good," he said, "because I wasn't taking no for an answer."
