THREE WEEKS SINCE THEY'VE SEEN EACH OTHER
______
Diego had woken up around ten, he was beyond tired. He had stayed late in the studio again, pressure was on him about releasing an album and he was determined to give his fans the best album he could give them. The idea of just staying in bed and relaxing sounded like a plan to him but he knew that his friends were mostly likely making their way over to his apartment already. Not even a minute later there was a knock on his front door.He quickly looked around for a shirt to put on, finding one of his shirts that he wore a couple days ago. Making his way over to the door he wondered who it could be. He opened the front door to see Jess standing there, he was confused on why she was there but none the less let her in. Jess walked in, bag in hand. She looked around the apartment and gave Diego a small smile.
"I'm sorry for randomly showing up. I was in town and I just stopped by to see how you were doing." She said as she made her way into his living room. A small couch was in the corner and Jess was surprised that nothing had really changed since the last time she was there. Diego stayed silent as he nodded his head at what she was saying. "I saw that you and Penelope broke up, I'm sorry if I had anything to do with it." She sounded sincere and Diego couldn't help but get a little pissed off. She knew she had everything to do with it. She was the reason they had broken up.
"You did. She heard me tell you that I loved you." Diego wasn't sure why he was talking to her, the last time they had seen each other was the day of his concert when Ethan was with him. They were on good terms until Diego's break up with Penelope had really hit him. He put the blame on Jess which resulted in him ignoring her. Jess let out a laugh, she couldn't believe he was actually blaming her. She never told him to say it back or to get bothered when she had finally moved on.
"You're so stupid, Diego. I had nothing to do with that and you know it." She wasn't going to sit there and get blamed. She had honestly just wanted to see how he was doing, she had finally moved on and she wanted to talk to Diego about it before someone told him. Like they had done last time. It was also Candy that had sent her, she was worried about Diego. It had been awhile since she saw him. Diego was apparently too busy.
"Your Mom tells me you haven't been home." Jess said with a disappointed look on her face. Diego couldn't look at her, he didn't need to feel even more guilty.
"I've been busy." He replied as he sat down on the couch next to her, arms out in front of him on his lap. He reached up to touch his hair, a nervous habit he had.
"She misses you and your Dad does too even if he doesn't want to admit it." Jess said as she reached over to touch his shoulder. He was quick to shake her hand off his shoulder, he didn't want her touching him. It wasn't right. Jess was hurt that he did that and retreated her hand back.
"What really happened with Penelope?" She quietly asked if Diego hadn't been paying attention he never would've heard her say something. He tensed a bit and Jess could tell he was really hurt.
"She heard me tell you that I loved you, she said she couldn't be with me anymore because she'll always have that doubt that I may still love you. She was just done." Diego confessed as he laid back on his couch. He was still so tired and he didn't want to think about Penelope. His heart broke when he saw her last Instagram post. She had gone to Coachella with some rapper, Russ was his name Diego believed. He ended up unfollowing her, it hurt too much to see her so happy. He missed her so much and no matter how many girls he got with no one could top Penelope and the last time they had shared.
