Hermione knew it wouldn't take Draco long to piss her off again. Why was he always so good at that? Pushing all the wrong buttons? Getting on her nerves? Saying all the wrong things? They had only be "dating" for about two weeks and he was already talking about why they shouldn't be together instead of why they should. It was all the same old arguments though.

"I'm a pureblood, you're right. My parents would never approve."

"So what?"

"I bullied you for years, hurt you, your friends."

"Wounds heal."

"I was on Voldemort's side for the entire war. People died because of it, good people and I somehow got out unscathed."

"I'm glad you did." But no matter what Hermione said, Draco had some other reasoning as to why they shouldn't be together.

"You're way too good for me." Draco grumbled. Hermione laughed.

"Well that's true but I'm just about too good for everyone." Draco smiled a little. "What more can I say to make you stop thinking about this? Forget all those reasons and rationales in your head, all that matters is what is in your heart." Hermione said, placing her hand over Draco's chest. She could feel his heartbeat beneath her fingertips. It was running wildly. Hermione smiled. Draco sighed though and sat back as Hermione brushed out her pants and sat next to him on the couch.

"We're opposite ends of a magnet Hermione. Never attracting, just always pushing farther and farther away from each other." Hermione gave Draco a funny look and he knew he hadn't convinced her.

"That's a stupid analogy." She muttered.

"But you didn't say it wasn't true." Draco confirmed, running a hand through his white blond hair.

"Why'd you have to compare us to such a silly thing as magnets." Hermione huffed. Draco couldn't figure out why his magnet analogy would frustrate her. "Those are inanimate objects. You couldn't have at least been cliche and said were like the sun and moon, day and night, fire and water.." Hermione could have gone on and on but Draco held up his hand.

"Okay, I get it. What's your point?" Hermione huffed and frowned at him.

"The point is what I've already tried to say Draco. I don't care what you think," She poked Draco's forehead with her index finger. "I only care about what you feel about me, about us." Hermione placed her hand gently on Draco's cheek and he relished in the touch of her warm hand. "What is your heart telling you right now?" Draco didn't want to tell her what his heart was saying. He was far more concerned about how everyone else would feel if they found out him and Hermione were together. They'd shun her and hate him for corrupting her. They'd accuse Draco of putting a spell on her or something horrible like that and that wasn't what happened at all. They were just suddenly... Perfect for one another. "Draco?" Hermione demanded.

"I don't know what you want to hear." Draco admitted finally. Hermione stepped back, seemingly drained from the short conversation.

"Well when you figure what you want, I'm just down the hall." With that Hermione stood and turned towards her room with a huff. Stupid Draco and his stupid hesitation. Why couldn't he just admit his feelings? Hermione knew he felt something towards her but she hadn't heard him say so since that first initial day when they talked about the kiss and tried to go back to normal. Draco let out a sigh and moved without meaning to. He found himself going after her, grabbing her wrist, pulling her toward him. Hermione wasn't surprised by his touch. She had hoped he would follow her, stop her before she got to her room.

"I do care about you Hermione." Draco murmured, running one hand through her wild curls as she stepped closer to him. "I just think..." Hermione put her hand over his mouth.
