Now the room was in an uproar. I was trying not to smile at his confession in front of everyone but now it was out and I was more intrigued as to why he admitted it when he had tried for so long to hide it.

"Silence!" The room was silent once more but this time, the male who was in charge stood and made his way down so that he could stand before me as James came up to my side in a protective manner.

"Is this true Alpha James? Is this vampire truly your mate?" James nodded and I felt my heart leap. I was his as he was mine.

"Janine, your request for Alpha James to be the one to end you will be difficult seeing as you are his mate." My frown was prominent as I huffed.

"Why?"

"Since you are his mate, his wolf will not harm you or allow anyone to harm you in any way. Your request for him to end you will be more challenging seeing as he cannot harm you, especially kill you by his own hand." I looked to my soul mate and I felt for him that I was asking him to do this but I had no choice if I was to succeed in my plan.

"I will allow no other wolf to kill me. It must be him and it must be the way I described." The look in James's eyes was one of pure terror. If the circumstances were switched then I'm sure I would have looked the same but I needed him to do this.

"I cannot... no, I will not kill you." I growled lowly and shouted.

"You have to!" The silence was deafening but I noticed that when my voiced raised that some of the wolves drew closer as they were now seeing me as a threat.

"Why does he have to?" The guy before me asked. I glanced at him and turned my attention back to the reason behind all of this.

"It has to do with my information. Once I have a confirmation that what I asked will be done then I will explain but until that time I will not say as to why." The powerful male made a few gestures to some wolves behind me and soon I heard a low and dangerous growl next to me.

The guards were trying to take James away so that they could talk to me and he was having none of it.

"She will not be harmed. We just need to get her information James. We will discuss this with you after we have what we need." The gutsy Alpha growled at the guy and something in him changed. His shoulders squared and a loud and mighty roar was released around us. I lowered my head at the power that rolled off of him in waves and when my eyes landed on James, his head was bent, exposing his throat.

Just what the hell is this guy?

"Leave now Alpha James before I hold you for treason." With much reluctance, he exited the room. Once the door was closed, the power that held me was lifted and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Now explain Janine," he said as if nothing just happened. My eyes met his.

"Oh hell no. You first. Just who the fuck are you? And what the hell was that?" The ghost that had been on his face earlier made an appearance except this time it wasn't a ghost but real.

"I am the high king of the werewolves, Alpha King Markus." Realization dawned on me and a look of understanding passed onto my features.

"Okay, I will explain now." He nodded and went back to his seat behind the long bench where the other members sat.

"Three nearly four months ago, I was changed into what I am by a vampire. It may not look it but I am actually from this area. I grew up here and even found out that I have ties to the pack. Apparently my family moved to a different pack that is friendly with this one but they kept my existence as a wolf from me. I guess they never really thought to mention it but it makes a lot of sense now."
