Even with the sun still shining, I awoke from my sleep after being pushed from Logan's mind as if another force wished for me to not be there. This may be deeper than I thought if Logan is an immortal being. But would that make James one too?

I think the closest relation between the two is best friends but I don't know if it runs deeper than that or not.

My mind ran wild as I sat myself up and against a wall, the feeling of drowsiness keeping me down near the floor. Man, this day stuff really is for humans.

I laid back down, hoping to get a bit more sleep but my mind kept running circles around just what this could mean to my plans. I mean, it would make sense as to why Logan's blood tasted weird and different when I had fed from him.

Without any real ideas to think on, I opened the ladder to the attic and went down to the second floor. In doing so, I checked for any rays of sunlight that may penetrate a nearby window. However, when I glanced into Adam's room, the window was a pale grey as little droplets fell down  his window. Perfect.

I climbed the ladder again but before exiting, I opened my duffel bag and grabbed a heavy jacket and a very dark umbrella. My brain even reminded me to grab black gloves.

I eventually made my way out of the house, everything back in place so no one would suspect another person living in Adam's house and took to the streets of the sad little town. Gatherings of little droplets into puddles had my memory remembering back to the days when I used to sit and jump in them as a child. In this very town, I had become the person I do not recognize now.

With the sun hidden behind quite the storm, I walked along the sidewalk towards the center of town almost freely, trying to remember the sun's kiss on my skin as I used to feel while human.

All traces of that human were gone in the vampire genes but it still felt strange to be awake during the day yet normal.

As I embarked into the busiest part of the town, I looked around, only seeing a few people walking the sidewalks and hurrying as they did. They didn't know the danger they were in or that the sun they were graced by their entire lives was actually what kept them safe during the daylight hours. Humans had it so easy, so warm, so blessed.

Once you are an immortal, there is no going back. Once you are an immortal, you can say goodbye to heaven forever...

I found myself walking towards that same part of town again but this time, I used a bit of my power to mask my scent and signature so that I would appear and smell human. As I came upon that line again, I took a deep breath and hoped that master had taught me the spell well enough to keep myself safe. I can't necessarily just run all vampiric during the day. People would see me and I would be turned to ash for revealing my existence to humans.

When I took the step over the line this time, I didn't feel an automatic trigger like last time.

I slipped my dark sunglasses on to hide my identity and continued walking, the feeling of fear growing with each determined step.

Like before, foot falls pounded on the ground and I could feel the hesitation in them. Only two this time. The houses came into view and I looked around with a tourist's interest. I tipped my umbrella to the side to allow the water to roll off and paused dramatically, looking around as if amazed.

Even though I was impressed that the settlement back here was like a miniature town on it's own, I knew that the being coming towards me from the side were going to be looking for someone looking to cause trouble.

I was not mentally prepared for the voice the appeared at my side, a jacket covering his head to keep the rain from his chocolate colored hair. He wore basketball shorts as if he had just finished exorcising and his best friend mirrored him but with different shades of clothing and a bit of a height difference.
