James hated the plan more than I was beginning to. I felt the unease around it all and I could tell that something was about to happen. But to keep him and the pack safe from an attack to get me back, the king allowed me to go but under the blood oath that I would return in time to give me the death I wished.

I left the territory of the wolves and back into town. It took little time before a dark figure strode to my side.

"He wants to see you," a male's voice said and started to lead the way. I couldn't place who it was but knew from the feel of him that he was one of my brothers and let him lead on. The place that I was led to was not the small apartment we had been staying in but instead a grand estate that looked fresh and clean. It was early night so the moon was still rising but it was brick with very few windows. A lavish garden sat to one side and seemed out of place in town.

He led me to the front door where I noticed a camera peering down at me. I gave a weak smile and waved. The male knocked once then strode away as if he had better things to do. Not a moment later the door opened to reveal another of my brothers in a dress shirt and pants, his hair slicked to one side like a fancy waiter or butler.

"He has been waiting. Follow me sister," he said and welcomed me into the building that was just as foreboding inside as it had been outside. The lights of the house were dim and the glow of many eyes, all male, watched me as I continued inside, couches and bodies groaning here and there.

This man led me up a grand staircase and when we arrived at a hallway littered with doors, I noticed one that made me shake. It held no color; in fact I was sure that it was just the absence of color.

"Through the door. He does not want to wait any longer than you have made him." With my head held high I walked down the hallway as if nothing had happened and opened the door without knocking or saying anything of my entrance.

He was waiting in a chair under the moonlight. No light was on save for a single candle that was lit on a side table as he stared out into the lights of the town. Off to the side was a bed bigger than any I have ever seen that was decorated with black and grey. A body laid on it, breathing ragged and nearly absent. I felt bad for the human female. Male vampires were not kind to the body.

When I set my attention back to the man I called Master, his orbs met mine. So much swam in them that I couldn't tell just what he was thinking. Stepping forward, I took one of his hands and kneeled down and kissed it before releasing it and keeping my eyes down.

"I have returned master."

"So it seems. I was sure they had accepted you into their pack and decided that you were not so bad so they'd keep you as a pet." I cringed but let out a soft chuckle.

"I am afraid that was not the case. You see, after I had checked on Adam and Ben, I was on my way back when they had taken me captive. It was only a short while ago that I was able to finally escape. Forgive me however that I have not had a chance to clean up and look presentable for you Master." He took my chin between his fingers and raised my face to his. I still had dirt marks and blood on the side of my cheek from a deer I had caught when they had let me go.

"You are forgiven. I swear those mutts are so rude and do not know how to treat company." he searched my eyes for something and when he didn't find what he was seeking, his face dropped and he sighed before releasing my jaw. I lowered my eyes again, careful to not upset him. Although he was the picture of calm I could feel his power wavering.

"Get cleaned up in your new room. We will be remaining here until you finish your mission then we will be moving on. Once you are done there will be a change of clothing prepared for you as I do plan to question you on the events since I last saw you. Unfortunately I must keep an eye on you so one of your bothers will need to be in your room at all times seeing as I am missing two of your brothers." My eyes flew to his in confusion.
