"It's 3 pm and Sam still isn't back." Dean complained, as Charlie put on another movie.
"Jo and I did see Sam and Gabriel walking out of a theater, but I think they said something about doing something else, after that movie." Charlie said, putting the movie case back on the coffee table.
"Still, he hasn't texted me yet and I'm worried." Dean replied as Jo grabbed a snack from her bag.
"Is it those older brother instincts?" She asked with a laugh, as she handed Kevin and Meg a candy bar as well. "I know he's your precious little brother, but you have to give him some space every once in a while. Let him breathe."
"C'mon guys, I put Jurassic World on." Charlie groaned, tugging on Dean's shirt sleeve. "Now who's on food duty?"
"Benny." Dean replied, pointing at Benny, who looked confused.
"Brother, all I eat is steak and beef, you sure you want me on food duty?" Benny spoke.
"I'll be food duty." Kevin suggested.
"I can too." Jo said, shrugging her shoulders. She tossed her blonde hair aside and let it rest on her shoulder. "You guys want fast food?"
"Chick Fil A for me." Charlie called. "And I do believe you know my order."
"Yep. Who else? I'll hand out a piece of paper, write your orders down on it." Jo announced before handing a piece of paper to Dean. As soon as he was done writing, he passed the paper to Sam, who passed it to Charlie, and then to Meg, and finally to Benny. Benny handed it to Kevin, who folded it up and stuffed it in his pocket.
"Let's take my car." Kevin stated. "I just got my license two weeks ago."
"What type of car do you have?" Jo questioned.
"2016 Kia Soul. I wanted a Lexus RX, but my mom said it was a bit out of her price range. She did agree to get me a Kia Soul if I got an A on my AP Bio exam, and I did, so she got me a Kia Soul when I turned 16." Kevin explained.
"I've always wanted a Lexus RX too, but my mom's planning to just give me a pickup truck once I get my license." Jo spoke, her tone slightly sour.
"Ok, go on and get us food." Charlie complained, tossing a wadded up piece of paper at Jo, who gave her an annoyed face before walking towards the door.
Once Kevin and Jo left, Charlie started the movie. Twenty minutes after they had left, Kevin and Jo returned, carrying bags of food. They handed each person their orders, then they both fell onto the couch with their own food in hand.
At 4:15 pm exactly, Dean got a text from Sam. The text simply read, "Gabriel's dragging me from store to store. I should need a ride around 5:30."
"Is it Sam?" Charlie asked, peering over Dean's shoulder. When Dean nodded, Charlie smiled. "What did he say?"
"He'll need a ride around 5:30. Apparently he's being dragged from store to store." Dean commented, stuffing his phone away.
"Hmph. I wonder what stores he's being dragged to." Charlie mumbled thoughtfully.
Dean shrugged and focused on the movie.
~~~~~
"Can't you just pick a place?" Sam cried as Gabriel dragged him to yet another store. Gabriel was dragging Sam from store to store, looking at all the shirts they had. Apparently, he wanted to get them matching shirts.
"Ooh, I see a Hot Topic!" Gabriel cried, and Sam could barely say a word before Gabriel dragged him off to the store. Sam internally groaned as he was dragged into Hot Topic by an overly eager Gabriel.
"Ok ok ok, let's pick out a shirt here and then we'll leave." Gabriel spoke, eyeing some t-shirts in the place.
"Do you need some help?" A woman asked, walking up to the two of them. She had short, brown hair and a kind smile.
"Not at the moment. My boyfriend and I are trying to find matching shirts, but if we need help we'll tell you." Gabriel spoke. Sam blushed when Gabriel called him his boyfriend, even though he knew the term was correct. This was their second date after all, if they had just gone on one and only one, they wouldn't really be dating. Two dates, however, meant they were.
"Alright. Do tell me if you need help." The woman added, walking off.
Gabriel grabbed Sam's hand and pulled him towards the back corner.
"Look at all these shirts!" Gabriel exclaimed, his eyes traveling up and down the walls. Sam was stealing glances at a few of the shirts, but he didn't seem to have much interest in it. "Ooh, I found a good one!" Gabriel said before grabbing at two shirts in one of the racks. He handed one to Sam before he dragged him to the cash register.
Gabriel paid for both shirts, which were white and the slightest bit see-through. Then again, most white shirts were that way. Sam hadn't even seen what was on the shirt, but Gabriel insisted he'd show Sam once they left the store.
At 5:00, Sam and Gabriel finally finished the whirlwind of a shopping trip Gabriel had sent them on.
After getting shirts, he had dragged Sam along on his trip for prank supplies. After all that shopping, Gabriel finally agreed to end the date then. Right before he did, though, he insisted on exchanging phone numbers, and Sam finally relented.
"Can I walk you home?" Gabriel asked, peering up at Sam.
"Uh, sure. Just be careful of my brother, though. He's a bit overprotective." Sam replied, and Gabriel laughed.
"Alright. I'm used to feisty people anyways." Gabriel said, shrugging. "You should meet my older Lucifer. He's always picking fights with my brother Balthazar." Gabriel took a step forward, swung around, and stared straight at Sam. "Now, which direction is your house?"
~~~~~
After a thirty minute long walk consisting of Sam and Gabriel talking, sharing stories of their siblings and laughing, they finally reached the Winchester house.
"Alright, remember, don't say anything too flirty. My brother's very protective." Sam warned.
"Yeah yeah, I know all about protective big brothers. C'mon, I want to meet yours." Gabriel replied nonchalantly.
"Alright. Don't say I didn't warn you, though." Sam sighed as he walked up to the door and knocked. Sure enough, his brother was the one to answer the door.
"Sam!" Dean shouted, wrapping his arms around Sam and pulling him into a hug. Once Dean pulled out of the hug, he turned to face Gabriel. "And I'm guessing you're the Gabriel he went on a date with?"
"The one and only." Gabriel said with a bow. He heard footsteps and voices from within the house, and soon, a familiar redhead appeared behind Dean.
"Dean? Who is it?" The girl asked, before briefly locking eyes with Gabriel. Her jaw dropped. "No way. You're Gabriel Novak."
"Guilty." Gabriel spoke, glancing at the girl. "You a fan?" The girl shrugged her shoulders, as if trying to say 'kinda'. Gabriel smirked, before turning to face Dean again. "And you're Dean right? It's nice to meet you."
Dean nodded, before turning to look at Sam. "Didn't you say you were gonna get a ride from me?"
"I was going to originally, but Gabriel suggested we just walk home." Sam answered, turning to briefly glance at Gabriel, who crossed his arms and nodded. Dean once again turned to face Sam.
"I'll see you again sometime Gabriel. Be nice to my brother or I'll smash your head in." Dean spoke before grabbing Sam and pulling him inside the house. The girl waved before closing the door, and Gabriel walked home with a smile on his face.
I'm just gonna pretend Gabriel doesn't remember Charlie because I'm too lazy to go back and change it. Also, Chapter 18 might be late, as I haven't finished writing it yet, and same with Chapter 19, if I don't manage to finish it by May 29th. Anyways, enjoy this chapter. I will say that Dean and Cas are about to become friends sometime in the next two chapters, so keep an eye out!
