Sam woke up to his phone ringing. Sam sleepily picked up his phone, and without even thinking to check the caller ID, answered the call.
"SAMSQUATCH!" Was the first thing Sam heard come out of his phone. It was Gabriel, shouting at him in glee. "Merry Christmas!"
It took Sam a second to process what Gabriel had said, and then he groaned. "I forgot it was Christmas."
"What?! How could you have forgotten today's Christmas?!?" Gabriel cried, shock clear in his voice.
"I haven't had a proper Christmas in years, Gabe." Sam replied tiredly, yawning. "We barely have money for food, let alone presents."
"Well it's a good thing then that I bought you presents." Gabriel replied. "I'll be at your house in an hour."
With that, Gabriel hung up, and Sam groaned. He pulled his covers off of himself, stood up and stretched. Sam then dragged himself out of his room, only to see Dean sitting on the couch in front of a small, measly tree with a few presents underneath it.
"Heya Sammy." Dean spoke as Sam walked towards him in awe. "I figured a few presents were appropriate, as celebration."
"Celebration for what?" Sam asked, confused.
"Well, your brother has been begging me for weeks and has finally convinced me to stay here so you two can finish high school." John spoke, appearing suddenly from the kitchen.
Sam stood there in shock. "Are you serious? We can stay here for two more years?"
"Well, technically three years. Adam has to finish high school too." John replied calmly.
Almost as if he heard his name, Adam emerged quietly from the bathroom. Adam glanced at Sam, nodded, and sat on the floor by the tree.
"Well? You wanna open your presents?" Dean asked, holding up a badly wrapped present. Sam smiled widely, walking over to Dean and taking the present from his hands. Sam unwrapped it, only to find a box with a law book in it. "I figured you'd like something nerdy." Dean teased.
Sam rolled his eyes, but he couldn't help the smile that formed on his lips, the edges of his mouth curving up. Sam ran to his room and grabbed a present he had managed to buy for Dean with money he had scraped up, and gave it to Dean. It was also a book, like the one Dean gave Sam, but it was on cars and mechanics.
Dean and Sam laughed as they opened two presents each. Sam got his law book and a plaid sweater, and Dean got his car mechanic book and a watch. An hour later, a knock came at the door, right on time. Dean turned his head to glance at the door, but Sam shook his head. "It's Gabriel. I told him I hadn't celebrated Christmas in a while so he insisted on bringing me a present."
Dean nodded in understanding, but John looked at Dean with a confused expression.
Sam opened the door, and immediately was engulfed in a hug. Gabriel quickly stepped away though, holding up three bags. "I got you three presents, I figured three was good and if I let myself get any more I'd be giving you ten presents. Also Cas is with me," Gabriel turned to reveal Cas standing awkwardly behind him, "Cas didn't wanna be left with our brothers so I brought him with me."Sam smiled and stepped aside to let them pass. "Alright, come on in."
Gabriel nodded and stepped inside, Cas walking closely behind him. As soon as Gabriel stepped inside, he made his way to the tree and placed the presents he had bought for Sam underneath it.
"C'mon Sam, you can open the presents I got for you!" Gabriel cried excitedly, gesturing to the presents he had just laid out. "Oh, and," Gabriel turned to Dean, "Cas got something for you."
Cas walked over and sat next to Dean, handing him an amazingly well wrapped gift.
"Wow Cas, did you wrap this?" Dean questioned, looking at the amazing wrapping job.
"I did." Cas said with a nod. "I'm rather good at wrapping."
"You're fucking amazing at wrapping." Gabriel remarked as he looked at Cas. "Mom always asks you to wrap every present cuz you're even better than her."
Cas rolled his eyes. "I practice." Cas turned his head to watch Dean unwrap the present, which ended up being a shirt and necklace.
"Here, Sam, open the presents I got you!" Gabriel cried, shoving the three presents in Sam's face. Sam laughed and sat on the couch to open the three presents Gabriel had bought him, while Gabriel sat two feet away, watching Sam eagerly. The first present ended up being a cutting board, so Sam could make himself salads with a nice cutting board. The second present was three plaid shirts, and the third present was the first picture Sam had taken with Gabriel in a nice oak frame. "Do you like what I got you?"
Sam leapt forward and pulled Gabriel into a hug, and Gabriel smiled and hugged Sam back. John nudged Dean, and Dean whispered "That's Sam's boyfriend," before John nodded and left him alone.
"Alright, you two have been hugging for a solid minute now." Dean complained, and Sam and Gabriel finally pulled apart. Not for very long, though, as Gabriel soon wrapped his arms around Sam and refused to let go, no matter how much Sam asked him or how much Dean complained.
Dean soon put on a christmas movie, per Cas's request, and Sam and Gabriel sat with their arms intertwined to watch the movie. At 3 pm, Gabriel suggested they all go to an ice rink to skate. Once they managed to find one that was open, they climbed into Dean's car and Dean drove to the ice skating rink.
Neither Dean nor Sam could skate, however, so Sam was practically leaning against Gabriel the entire time. Gabriel laughed and held onto Sam, ignoring a homophobic comment someone had yelled at them.
Meanwhile, Cas was dragging Dean onto the ice by his waist as Dean clung to the side of the rink, refusing to go onto the ice.
"Dean, it's just ice!" Cas huffed, trying to drag his boyfriend onto the ice.
"I'm not going onto the ice if I can't hold onto the wall!" Dean cried, still refusing to let go of the wall of the rink. Cas huffed in annoyance as he tried to drag Dean onto the ice. Dean was stubborn, but Cas was even more so, and so Cas refused to give up until he was finally able to pull Dean off of the side of the rink and onto the ice. Dean, however, quickly fell onto his butt, and Cas had to hold Dean for the rest of the time so Dean wouldn't fall again.
Sam was still clinging onto Gabriel, and Gabriel was nearly collapsing from the weight of Sam leaning against him. "Babe, you're gonna have to stop clinging onto me or we're both gonna both fall."
"Well if I let go of you I'll fall." Sam replied, wary of falling.
"Okay, how about this, I'll skate over to an opening and you can sit for a while. But then you gotta try to actually skate." Gabriel stressed, scanning for an opening in the side of the rink. He finally spotted one and managed to skate over to it, letting Sam sit down for a few brief minutes.
"Ok, now get up and I'll teach you to skate." Gabriel demanded, standing firmly as Sam glanced at him. Sam sighed and stood reluctantly, trying to balance as he stepped onto the ice.

The four boys stayed at the rink until it closed at 8 that night. They all returned to the Novak's house, after Gabriel and Cas had invited Sam and Dean. The Novaks were watching Christmas movies while Lucifer and Michael roasted marshmallows at the fireplace.
As Dean and Cas tried to squeeze onto the floor amongst most of the Novak family, Sam and Gabriel joined Michael and Lucifer in roasting marshmallows. (Or really Gabriel roasted marshmallows while Sam watched)
That night, Sam and Dean stayed over, Sam falling asleep on the floor of Gabriel's room and Dean on the floor of Cas's. And neither Sam nor Dean could remember a happier Christmas.
Heyo! So here's Chapter 38, finally! Just know that the rest of the story will kinda rush through the rest of the school year. There might be a three week time gap between two chapters. Also, I start tenth grade tomorrow so I might go some weeks without uploading, but I'll try to warn you beforehand. This story will be 50 chapters, which means there's only 12 chapters after this! D:
And thank you for 5 thousand reads! Seriously, four days ago I hit four thousand, so it's crazy my story's blowing up so quickly. Thank you all so much!
