Domi's POV
I waved as Ash and Winnie were surrounded by a bright white light. I rolled my eyes when I saw them kissing as they disappeared, but smiled nonetheless.
It's about time. I was getting tired of the bedroom-eyes looks Ash was giving Winnie.
I turned to the man. "Thanks, Lucy. I don't think you realize just what you did for them," I said.
Lucifer just gave me a knowing smile and placed his hand on my shoulder. "You're fired."
"FIRED?! What?!? I thought we were besties! BDFF's! Best Demon Friends Forever!" I screeched. I'm pretty sure my voice broke, but Lucy just continued to smile his shit-eating smile.
"You're too nice to be a demon, Domi."
I frowned. "What do you mean? I thought I was plenty rude and cruel," I said with a gasp.
He chuckled. "For one, you started to care for Winnie almost as much as Asher did. Don't argue with me, I not only can I read your mind, but it's also written all over your face. I know the truth. Secondly, you apologized. Demons never apologize, even if they are sorry. Which brings me to my third point: you felt bad for something you did," Lucy said as he shook his head. "That's something that isn't supposed to happen at all. You could have been punished severely if anyone found out before now."
I sighed and looked down at the ground. I looked back up and said, "But―"
"Don't worry about where you'll stay. I've got a house set up for you to move in. Don't worry, it's not too far from Asher, so you can still go over and visit him anytime you like. I've also made your fake degree real and given you all the information you need to know so you'll actually know what you're doing and you can keep your job. Storm will also move in with you," Lucifer said as he grabbed my shoulders. "Now get out of my house."
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, yeah, bye, Lucy!"
"Hey! That's Lucifer to you! Get out of here!" Lucy said as he touched my forehead. I saw blinding white light before it faded to black. I opened my eyes and smiled at the house in front of me.
My house wasn't too big or too small. It was just right, with a small garden in front of the white porch. I smiled at the table and two chairs flanking it on either side. I walked inside and noticed a key on a key hook thing in front of the door, making me tilt my head in confusion. I walked into the living room and froze.
Whitney-Rose stood up from the couch and cleared her throat. "Um, hi."
"H-hey." Way to stutter, nimrod. "What are you doing here?" I asked while mentally patting myself on the back for not stuttering this time.
"Lucifer fired me. He said I broke the law, but he was feeling gracious so he let me live. But now I'm a human," she said as she played with the sleeve of her long white shirt.
I nodded slowly and stared at her. She's just as beautiful as ever. God, what was I thinking?! I should never have cheated on her!
Whitney-Rose cleared her throat again. "Um, Domi?"
"Yeah?" I asked as I swallowed. She still makes me nervous.
"I was thinking about what you said, in Hell, and um, I forgive you."
"You do?!" I exclaimed in a high pitched voice. I cleared my throat and tried again, making sure to keep my voice at its normal pitch. "You do?"
Whitney-Rose smiled shyly. "Yeah. I do."
When I began to walk over, she held up a hand. "But that does not mean I will forget about what happened."
I grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it. "Whit, baby, I don't expect you to. But I was wondering if you would give us another try," I said as I looked up at her from under my lashes.
Whitney-Rose bit her lip. After a minute of thought, she nodded. I beamed and went in for a kiss, but Whitney-Rose held up a finger. "At the first sign of you cheating, I'm gone. You don't treat me like I feel I deserve to be treated, I'm gone. No second chances. Understand?"
I kissed her finger and held her hands in mine. "Of course. Thank you," I said. I looked around. "Have you been in the rest of my house?" Whitney-Rose shook her head. I laced her fingers with mine and said, "Explore it with me. If you want, you can stay for dinner. We can get some Chinese food and watch movies," I offered, looking at her over my shoulder.
She tilted her head. "What's Chinese food?"
I gasped. "Oh, you are definitely staying for dinner! You have to try it, it's amazing!"
Whitney-Rose smiled at me. "Yeah. I will stay."
