I groaned and sat up, rubbing my head. I opened my eyes and looked around. I tilted my head in confusion.

Who the fuck is this? Where the hell am I?

There was a man seated with his back to me in a white chair in front of me, flanked on either side by the Big Three. I could see the Three's faces perfectly, and I was surprised to see fear on their faces. I focused on what the mysterious man was saying.

"What have I told you three about handling my job? I will kill you the next time it happens. Three strikes and you're out."

"Yes, sir," they said in unison, bowing their heads.

The man spun his chair around and seemed surprised to see me. "Oh, I didn't think you would be awake yet. That's fine," he said as he crossed his legs and folded his hands underneath his chin. He smiled again. "How are you feeling?"

"Um, okay, I guess," I answered as I looked around once again. I was beginning to get nervous.

Where's Winnie and Domi?

The man slapped his forehead as he exclaimed, "Of course! I'm so sorry, Asher." He gestured behind me.

I turned around and jumped out of my seat. I ran over and gave Domi a hug. "I'm so glad you're not dead," I said as I pulled away and held his shoulders.

Domi laughed. "Me too. I'm perfectly fine now, no signs of dying on me!"

I laughed again before I was interrupted by the man. "Would you like to see Winston, now?"

I smiled and nodded. The man smiled and snapped his fingers. A door opened on the right side of the room. Winnie cautiously poked his head in and scanned the room. He shrunk back when he saw Belladonna, but a smile quickly took over his face when his eyes met mine.

He ran over to me and jumped into my arms. I picked him up and spun him around, planting my lips on his when we stopped spinning. "I'm so glad you're okay," I said as I rest my forehead against his, "and I'm sorry they caught you."

Winnie shook his head. "It's okay. I'm okay," he said as he quickly pecked my lips again. I pulled him into another hug and looked over when the man cleared his throat. The Big Three were nowhere to be seen.

"Do you want to remain a demon or become a human, Asher?"

My breathing stopped and my eyes went wide. "What?" I asked, out of breath.

"Do you not know what those wings of yours mean?" When I shook my head, he continued. "They mean that you got your soul back. Well, I say you got it back. It's more like it was buried far beneath the surface, and was just waiting to be activated again. Only a POH has the power to do that," the man said with a smile. He shook his head slightly and continued.

"Anyway, about the whole soul thing. You're experiencing things almost no demon ever will, like happiness, or regret, and jealousy. You care about other people now. The same thing happened to Jaxon a few hundred years ago. Do you remember that? Well, you don't personally remember, but I'm sure you've heard of him, correct?" The man asked.

My jaw dropped at the information. When Winnie looked at me confused, I quickly explained. "Jaxon was a demon who also grew wings. The Big Three caught wind of it and everyone thought he died. But now I'm guessing this is what happened to him."

The man nodded. "For that reason, you have two options. You can either become a human, which means you keep everything you own from your missions. You will age normally and your wings will disappear. You'll even go to the best thing I created since I convinced Eve to eat the fruit: school. Or you remain a demon and your boyfriend becomes a demon with you. It'll be like he never existed. His family won't remember him, and neither will his friends," The man continued.

"I want to be human. No way in hell is Winnie becoming a demon," I said quickly.

Domi snickered at my unintentional pun.

The man smiled. "I thought you might say that. Your house will remain your house, everything you own will remain yours, and the money left over from your mission reserve is yours. However, neither of you will ever go to heaven or hell. Winston, you fell in love with a demon, and Asher, you're too nice to be a demon, but you still technically were one. You both will be reincarnated for the rest of time, in different places and at different times, but you will always find each other. I wish you the best of luck, Asher."

"Thank you," I said as I pulled a blushing Winnie closer to my side. He wrapped his arms around my middle and buried his face in my chest. "But what about Domi? And what did you mean before by almost no demon would feel those things?"

The man waved me off with a smile on his face. "Just ask Domi, you'll see him again, don't worry."

I breathed out a sigh of relief. I couldn't bear to lose my best friend. "See you on the flip side, Domi."

"See you, Ash," Domi said as he waved goodbye.

I raised my hand in farewell as Winnie vigorously waved his arm back and forth. "Bye Domi!!!"

Domi laughed. "Bye, Winnie!"

I looked down at Winnie as we started to become surrounded by white light. He looked up at me and smiled. I rest my hands on his hips and leaned down. Winnie grabbed my face and met my lips with his. I smiled as the ache I felt when I was with Winnie in the church returned. I think I finally know what it was.

Love.

I love you.
