What would've happened if the forces of the Misty Mountains and Gundabad came much later in book or movie? Or even not at all?
For without a common enemy, without a dire threat to their existence, the forces of Good that came on the fields of Dale and Erebor would've attacked each other for the gold of Erebor.
When Dáin II Ironfoot's Iron Hills Dwarves and King Thranduil's Mirkwood Elves duke it out in the fields of Erebor, no hand of evil moves to intervene the conflict between ex-allies. As a result, the Battle of Erebor commences as Dáin's forces crash into the Elven lines like a tidal wave and Elf slays Dwarf and vice versa.
Knowing that his forces aren't a match for the Dwarves, Bard and the Men of Dale let the Mirkwood Elves do all of the heavy fighting while he orders his archers to rain arrows on the attacking Dwarves. Eventually, he'll have his forces attack the flanks of the Dwarves if he can, knowing that they have the Dwarves outnumbered -- though not outmatched.
As the fighting grows fierce, Elves and Dwarves and, yes, sometimes Men, fall to the arms of Death -- never again to see their beloved homes and family again. Each side desperately trying to gain the advantage in the battle in order to claim the vast treasure hoards of Erebor.
The Dwarven hoards must indeed be cursed, after all.
Two sides clash against each other . . . Three armies battle it out for dominance on the field . . . But only one will be victorious in this bloody conflict.
Who will win? What will happen after the conflict -- if the conflict, indeed, ends without the interferance of the Moria and Gundabad Orc armies? Will the Orcs come later or not at all? How will it affect the Peoples as a whole, and the history of Middle-Earth as we know it?

Author's Note: Mae govannen, mellyn! Here's a second Hobbit prompt for you today. Sorry if there's a lot of pictures in this one. I know that it's a little excessive for a writing prompt of all things, but I took pictures from the movie and they looked awesome for this prompt, so I decided to use them. I hope you don't mind.
Sorry also if parts seem a bit blurry, but that's unavoidable. I don't have any fancy-smancy software to make them unblurry.
My computer is no match for Elven speed and agility. lol XD
As to the prompt, I've always wondered as I watched (the final movie of the Hobbit trilogy) and read (the climax of The Hobbit book) Battle of the Five Armies as to what would've happened if the Orcs didn't come at the right time as they did. Obviously, the Free-Peoples would've continued to fight in the fields of Erebor and Dale for the gold of Erebor. Though who would've won, I wouldn't have been able to say. While both the Elves and Men combined outnumbered the Dwarves 4-to-1 (and the Elves were more experienced in battle then both of the Races combined), the Dwarves had armor, skill, and superior weaponry on their side.
What about you guys? If the Battle of the Five Armies happened later after the Battle of the Three Armies between the Elves, Men, and Dwarves were finished, who would've won and why? Would there have been any victor at all? Or would it have been a phyrric victory for all sides?
For sure, if the Battle had continued, and the Orcs of the Misty Mountains and Gundabad came later, it will most definitely be guaranteed that the Free-Peoples would've been destroyed, and the Easterlings and Orcs of the North would've been free to march upon the South towards Gondor and Rohan before the War of the Ring even started.
What do you guys think?
I hope you guys enjoy this prompt.
Long live the Night!
