In honor of Mother's Day, this prompt will be a Special Wild Card Prompt.
What does this mean?
It means that you can pick a mother/child duo from the Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, or from the Silmarillion -- basically any of the Tolkien books. Doesn't matter if one or both of them are dead, write them during the time before their deaths (Faramir and Boromir with their own mother, for example; or Aragorn and Gilraen; Arwen with her future children; or even Nerdanel and her seven sons).
Write about the mother/child duo of your choice, and show their relationship (whether good or ill) in the way that you know best. You can either follow the books, the movies, or your own imagination -- or all three!
If you wish to kill them off . . . well, then, that's your choice. You're the writer. Doesn't mean that people are going to like it. But if you're following the books, well, good luck. And double portion of brownies to you! ;-D
