Azog the Defiler has defeated the Triple Alliance of the Elves of Mirkwood, the Men of Dale, and the Dwarves of Erebor and the Iron Hills -- crushing their armies and slaughtering everyone in their path. Dale and Erebor now belong to the Dark Lord. The Eagles have fled, and the Elves of Mirkwood have retreated to their woodland realm. It is only a matter of time before Azog the Defiler marches on to both Mirkwood and the Iron Hills and conquers them in the name of the Dark Lord Sauron!
The Men of Dale that are left either go into hiding, flee to Mirkwood with the Elves. Most that are left behind either get slaughtered or become slaves of the Shadow.
Azog, true to his title, defiles the lands of Erebor and Dale, and of the people of Dale -- none shall escape their Fate. Either as food for his armies, or as slaves to the Dark Lord -- or both.

Author's Note: Mae govannen, mellyn. Here's a dark prompt for you. This prompt goes into the what-if scenario concerning Azog and his forces winning and taking control of the Northeast of Middle-Earth. One would have to wonder how that would've affecting the Free-Peoples in Middle-Earth years later before and during the War of the Ring.
