Scene 9: Emotions (Vincent)

I saw a person who was about to share  the same fate like I was when I was a kid and I swore not to lit happen but I failed her again, when I saw her put it all on her mother I felt like she was half right but when I looked at her mother there was something in those eyes like she is dying inside I could see how the cold world has closed in on her and stabbed her so I stopped Maria, and my instincts were right she had a reason to do so but still it is hard to butt in on a family matter, I’m just a friend or servant not a family member so it’s hard to interfere any further.

Maria and I left her mother’s room still sulking on the side of the bed, I felt that Maria was tired and so am I. We ignored every people we met towards her room if they did talk Maria would reply reluctantly with a yes or no if the question required those answers and finally we entered her room, she just stare at me for a moment and went to her bed. “Goodnight Mistress.” I said. She had no response she just turned her back on me so I went to the balcony but she suddenly called for me.

So I went back. “Yes Mistress?” I asked.

“Can you sit down beside me till I fall asleep?” Maria asked.

I did and it felt awkward for a moment but she faced me her sad yellow eyes her lips red and moist her rosy cheeks that was soaked in tears, I felt sorry for her I know what she’s going through.

“Maria are you ok?” I asked.

“Vincent what will you do if everything turns dim and that life is crushing you, suffocating you?” She asked.

I took a deep breathe and spoke. “I know how you feel right now, I felt so down when they said that my dad was dead well more like Missing In Action or M.I.A that’s how the army calls it, but the thing is they are not dead yet are they? There is still hope so don’t give up.” I said.

I held her hand and she looked at me. “Promise me Maria not to give up.” I said.

She nodded “I promise.” she said.

She sighed and asked. “Vincent why didn’t you leave when I reincarnated you?” I asked.

I smiled. “Well when you said that you were going to get killed if the regular humans find out and you said our destinies are bind.” I said but then I turned a bit serious and said. “I made up my mind I don’t want anyone dying especially if it is the ones who are closest to me.”

She blushed then she did something that I didn’t expect, she approached me and hugged my whole arm, which forced me to lie down and she tucked herself on my side. “Thank you Vincent, for being there for me.” She said as she closed her eyes.

I watched night pass until finally Maria was asleep I slowly took back my hand and I went to the balcony and I slept there.

As soon as I closed my eyes I started to dream, I saw my father in a black background He was in his normal look his combat boots his unusual military uniform all black without helmet and his face was full of concern and he spoke. “Listen my son your life will never be the same again once the prophecy has begun a journey will soon begin, I warn you this journey will be very dangerous, you may not return alive.”

I reached out to him but my legs won’t move not even a single step, I was glued to my place.

“Dad why are you with that lady?! Come on dad let’s go home.” I said ignoring his warning.

“My boy patience haven’t I told you that everything has its purpose and that it will reveal themselves in the right time?” He said in a reluctant tone.

“Dad!!!” I shouted.

“I love you guys remember that.” He said as he slowly fades.

I jolt up, I was breathing heavily like I was being chased and suddenly my wounds hurt so I held it I saw the sun was going up and I went inside the room my vision was a bit dizzy and I failed to see what was in front of me but when my vision cleared I saw Maria was changing. She glared at me. “Vincent!!! What the hell are you doing?!” She shouted as she covered herself.
