Scene 20: The lover’s yearning (Maria)
I hated that moment when they took Vincent away from me and I watch helplessly on the ground trying to stand and fight amidst my burns but I was just useless. I woke up on my bed it was morning and I was wrapped in bandage but I casted heal and I removed them.
“Damn it!!!” I said, as my tears fell into my hands.
I didn’t eat that day nor I had the strength to leave the room and I cried every time I remember him I didn’t even notice that it was night time and as I sleep I dreamed something that gave me hope, before me is Lumina and her husband Shadow.
“Maria Suncrest, hear me be strong your fiancé is still alive but he is dying slowly and painfully.” Lumina said.
“He can be found in the mountain of life and death, and there they are performing a spell to summon my anti being, Abyss.” Shadow said.
They looked behind them and they let me see, what Vincent is going through, he was screaming in pain and he coughed out blood every minute and the blood slowly filled the circle.
I sobbed. “Vincent” I called.

Lumina sighed. “Where did you learn that?” She asked.
“Hey hey, come on dear that’s what our kids are telling me when you saved me and I can see the tears on your face.” He said.
The scene was so bizarre and a bit funny but my fiancé’s life is on the line so I cut in there petty quarrel. “Umm excuse me Great Patrons, will you help me bring my fiancé back or not?” I asked.
“Ah kiddo, sorry about that but your fiancé is mine.” Shadow said.
“I’m sorry Maria, Vincent must die but not by the hands of the enemy but by yours.” She said.
“Great that is so helpful but why me!!!” I shouted.
“Ooh she got your temper dear.” Shadow said.
“Quiet dear or I’ll unleash my temper on you.” She said.
Shadow quiet down. “Maria, do you know what the trial of Lumina spell does?” She asked.
“You simply eject the soul of the evil from the body of a possessed host.” I said.
“True but If you use that on a person when he’s soul is about to be devoured by an apparition, you could eject the soul earlier and send it to the spirit valley and at least the soul is saved.” Lumina said.
It is cruel if he has to die and be devoured by an Anti being but I can’t kill him.
Lumina might have read what is in my mind so she, went to my side and tapped my shoulder. “Maria I know it is harsh and inhumane but if you look at the consequences it’s the least you can do to save him.” She said.
I tightened my fist, I don’t know what to do I glanced at Vincent’s agony and my tears fell, and I fell to my knees and thought long and hard, while the spirits watch but I reached my decision my very heart breaking and hard decision, I rose and wiped my tears and stopped crying.
“No more crying, it’s my turn to save Vincent.” I said.
Lumina smiled and looked at Shadow. “Looks like you made the right body to be reincarnated in dear.” Shadow said in a taunting manner.
Lumina was offended but she looked at me. “I will be with you all the way, remember I am the defender and as long as you use me to protect, my powers will be in your command, but here this Maria this won’t be easy, it might jeopardize the whole alliance this place is guarded.” She said.
