Scene 15: Blessing (Maria)
I had a dream that Vincent was fighting to the death with an army of thousands and as I wake by a sound of wings flapping and I saw that I was in the arms of Aqua and as I looked down I saw that we were flying in Ageroth’s back I squirmed and Aqua looked at me. “Oh you’re awake sleepy head.” He said.
“What the heck happened?” I asked.
“You got hit by lightning you were badly hit we thought we’ll lose you but I used my mother’s present and healed you.” Aqua said.
“Thanks Aqua, you know when I was out I had a funny dream, Vincent was fighting a whole army all by himself” I said.
They exchanged looks and they shifted uncomfortably and I realized that Vincent was not around. “Where’s Vincent?” I asked nervously.
“He wanted to say sorry, that he couldn’t keep his promise.” Verra said.
I remembered his promise to stay alive and he’ll never leave me so I felt shattered, I looked back and saw chaos down there I could see the Pyromancers and Electromancers crowding something. “Don’t tell me he…” Aqua and Verra bowed their heads gravely.
“What? Vincent!!!” I shouted. I squirmed in Aqua’s arms but my wound still stung and I winced.
“Maria calm down.” Aqua said.
“Calm down How?! His down there swarmed by the enemies!” I said.
“Maria please listen. If you move some more we’ll fall Ageroth needs to concentrate his flying at his limits.” Verra said clearly hurt she was choking a sob.
I looked ahead and I saw the flying city and we landed safely, our emotions still grim I even failed to notice that the person talking to me was King Sora himself but Verra talked to him and they took off with a couple of Aeromancers I sat in the middle of the street as I felt the rain on my body but I felt someone’s embrace not one but two I saw Verra and Aqua hugged me. “We’re sorry Maria He just took off we couldn’t stop him.” They said, but I remain silent.
Hours passed and heard the battle started to close and I saw the Aeromancers land in front me and King Sora was carrying Vincent he put him down gently in front of me, his body was scorched and scarred He was no longer breathing, the sight of it made me weak, I cried as I held his lifeless body. “Vincent!!! You promised you Idiot!!! Why?!” I shouted as I hit the ground with my fist. “Maria, I’m so sorry.” Verra said.
Suddenly a surge of power came over me, I see my body glow and everyone stood back and stared I stared at Vincent like I was in a trance.
“Come back Vincent Angelo Sangabriel.” I said.
He starts to breathe and as I put my hands on his chest his wounds, burns and cuts were gone.
“You have not yet done your purpose.” I said as the power left me and I felt Very tired.
“Whoa what happened?” I said.
Verra approached me. “Vincent’s ok.” She said.
Everyone cheered and I rushed to his side.
“Vincent your ok.” I said as I held him in his face.
I saw others stare at us and I remembered that it was inappropriate to show affection in public but I didn’t care I hugged him anyway. “Thank Lumina you’re ok”
Aqua helped me carry Vincent but as I rise I bowed. “Thank you king Sora.” I said.
King Sora and Queen Zephyr smiled. “No problem Maria.” He said.
