Scene 16: Battle in Calamity Island Part 2 (Maria)

The celebrations were cut short when Spike growled and mom tensed.

“This isn’t over…” Mom uttered.

She casted fusion again and growled. “Everyone stay alert this isn’t over!” She shouted.

True enough the corpses started to move everyone was scared and as we saw the horizon, the light from the sunset slowly became total darkness, I felt our powers weakening but mom roared a command. “Paladins call forth the light of Lumina!”

The Paladins rose there staffs in the air and casted. “Oh great Lumina bring forth thy light!”  Our staffs lit up like stars before the darkness could swallow us and the lights joined together and created a giant star that lit the sky.

“Necromancers” Mom said with a grudge, she gathered our armies and we stood close to each other but she called me, Verra, and Aqua. “Listen kids you need to get out of here alert the Geomancers of what is to come there barrier makes them deaf and blind of what is outside there sanctuary, call them tell them of what is to come, we need all the help we could get.” She said.

I nodded. “Please stay safe mom, may Lumina guide you.” I said.

“Hey, hey she’s already is beside me.” She said as she winks.

I smiled and we ran to the forest without looking back, the light was still dim to actually see what we are running to so I casted. “Oh Lumina spirit of light guide our path lend me your powers.” I chanted and a wisp of light flew from my staff and lit our path like a big firefly, but the sight was disgusting, corpses reek in every corner even hanging in the trees some are even unfortunate enough to be impaled in the pine trees.

“That is disgusting.” I said.

We were almost in the end of the forest when we heard explosions and shouts on the horizon, we stopped and listened. “Looks like they started, but we noticed that the bodies moved and there shadows rose from their bodies and formed into a perfect replica of the corpses, every single detail were spot on. (This is gross if they are impaled, scorched beyond recognition, and drowned or bloated because of so much water.)

These sent chills to my spine I was shaking in fear, off all the things that I am afraid of are zombies, they closed in but I tripped and I fell into the ground, Verra and Aqua rushed to my side.

“Maria snap out of it!” Verra said.

One zombie got through and tried to hit me, I shouted and closed my eyes, but I felt something left me and as I opened my eyes I saw Vincent crossed sword with the enemy, and he slashed it and it went down and decapitated I was still trembling but Vincent knelt his back facing me.

“Hop on Maria, and don’t open your eyes until I told you so.” He said.

I did and I held on tight. “Thank you Vincent.” I said.

He laughed slightly. “I promised didn’t I?” He said.

I heard Verra and Aqua giggled. “Now that’s a knight in shining armor.” They said.

I blushed. “Shut up! I just hate zombies!” I shouted.

They laughed as I heard them battle the first wave of zombies. “Barrier! Power!”

I heard sword clashes and spells in the surrounding and I heard Zombie sounds that still made hold Vincent tighter.

After a few more weapon clashes it went silent and Vincent finally spoke. “Alright you can open your eyes now.” He said, but as I opened it I saw a zombie heading towards me, I shouted and Vincent quickly knelt and thrust his sword backward impaling the zombie and it decapitated and I saw a horde of zombies in front of us and I shouted Photon Destroyer!!!” I pointed my staff in the sky and a pillar of light shot up and it rained a single thin light in front and in seconds it exploded taking out the whole horde and wiping them out of the face of the earth.
