Two days later, I woke up.
The exhaustion had been so ‘powerful’ that made me sleep for two nights and a day. The first thing I thought once woken up, had been on food. I was starving.
I looked around and saw that I had a relatively small bag right by my pillow.
I removed the staples carefully and noticed it had a letter.
The envelope was one of those old and beautiful ones, with small sparkles and with the characteristic red ‘ball’ to seal it behind. I opened it, and I stared reading.
"I know it is not by a bribe that people conquer the hearts of other people but consider this an engagement gift..." - I only read this far. He was asking me to marry him? With curiosity, I continued to read.
“... I'm kidding. Consider this gift as an apology for turning one of your best friends into a vampire and consider this as a gift of welcome to my complicated world.
And to my heart.
I hope that you use it today, but if you do not, no problem.
Forever Yours, Niklaus. "
As I read the letter I imagined him reading it with the seductive English accent. I was just smiling inside. It was strange to imagine other people to read a letter that is directed to us.
I looked into the bag, and there was also a dark blue box, lined with velvet.
Had a bow on the outside, it was golden, the exact same eye color when Klaus was worried or angry. I didn’t know if it was coincidence or on purpose, but any one of them it was, had me and my whole heart melted.
I carefully took the bow off the box and stretched to save it in the bottom drawer of my bedside table because I did collection of bows since childhood and had never left this ‘tradition’. I had the drawer overflowing.
I grabbed the box and opened it slowly.
I saw the glint of the diamonds so intensely that it almost blinded my eyes.
The bracelet was looking old, I believed that as soon as I touched, it would undo in seconds.
I dressed normally, the clothes were a little bit warmer because we were already in November. I placed the bracelet on my right wrist.
It was so beautiful and elegant. He had a taste of hell...

I got to school, and of course my friends soon noticed the bracelet ..
“Oh, Care, it is so beautiful!” Niamith exclaimed, grabbing my wrist.
“Yes, indeed, it’s very beautiful.” Lilith agreed while she was analyzing it.
“It was, wasn’t it?” Meridith asked. I limited myself to smile warmly. There was no need to say "yes".
“You know you talk to Liam, right?” Niamith inquired, continuing to examine the bracelet.
