Chapter 39 - Come Back, please

        The phone finally rang. Elijah took it from his pocket and passed it to Joanne. Her voice sounded like Caroline’s voice, perfectly like hers.

        “Yes?” She asked.

        “I've given you plenty of time to think.”

        “I need more.”

        “Honey, you already have the child in your hands, now give the baby to me and I'll give you your precious boyfriend.”

        “How do I know you’ll give him back?”

        “Because I promise.” The witch gave the coordinates of where she was to make the switch.

        Joanne, Rebekah, Kylie, and Elijah entered the scary house of coordinates. They were walking very quietly, all of them passed through a window that had the capability of making them see the garden. It was all lit up, so, there would be where witches were.

The torches were arranged in a star shape, bounded by salt, and Klaus was right in the middle, shirtless, we were able to see his bloody abs, full of cuts that should be healing, but that wasn’t happening. Rebekah rushed to her brother, but Elijah grabbed her arm and pulled her near him.

        “It would be too easy.” He sighed and gave one step on the garden. The torches were burning strongly. The witches began to approach the circle.

        “Where is Caroline? And the new freak?”

        Klaus raised his head with effort, to realize that his child was referred.

        “The child is in an appropriate place.” Elijah responded.

        “But we had a deal.”

        “Yeah, but I want to tell you that this agreement was broken, not by her, but by me.”

        She started to laugh. “Well, I wanted her to look in the eyes of her boyfriend if she couldn’t make the switch, and watch him die. But if she is not here, you are the one who is going to see.”

        Rebekah moved quickly and grabbed his hybrid brother and took him away.

        “You're always so easy.” Elijah said.

        “Oh, if you think that’s it...” Another elder said. “He will continue to be controlled from afar, for the rest of his life.”

        “The connection can be broken.” Kylie said, loudly.

        “Yes... it can, but I think no one will do it.”

        “Do what?” Joanne asked, the first time we got there.

        “A sacrifice.” Kylie declared.

        “What sacrifice?” Joanne made another question.

        “To break the link between Klaus and the witch, someone has to take his place and die.” Kylie said. Joanne swallows before she broke the neck of one of the witches who were there and then she went away on her vampire speed. A witch casts a spell to Kylie, who falls on the floor. Elijah raised his eyebrows in surprise and began to kill all of them.
