Chapter 14 - The Winter Ball

        I think we slept until 11 am. By one side it was good because we awake without any black circle under the eyes, but bad because we had to go to the hairdresser in hours, we still had not taken the mask or eaten and we were not yet arranged to go there.

We rushed to do all of those things. We went to the hairdresser and we left relatively early, around four-thirty. We went directly to home, we did our makeup.

We helped dress the dresses of each other because we didn’t want to ruin the hairstyle and the makeup.

Were five to seven and we were ready. We stared one last time in the mirror and went to school.

          Usually the boys came to pick up the girls in their home, but we broke that rule a bit. As I organized the Ball, I had to go early, and my friends, for me to don’t be alone, they accompany me.

Their partners were waiting at school, so they could also help me.

In the car we changed the sandals to high heels.

          Liam, had invited Meridith to be his partner. I helped him a bit in the invitation. She had always had a crush on him and since he and I had broken up, he began to have a crush on her too.

           Lilith reconciled with Jack, and he invited her, although the first two times she had said no. But then, she accepted, but nothing more was going on between them.

          Jim invited Niamith. She said that nothing would grow but her feelings developed. Both of their feelings developed, and when he told her he was also a werewolf and he knew that she was, he had become one recently.

          I technically had invited Klaus, but then he invited me. It was a different situation.

He told me he could only be there at eight because he had to resolve some issues. He didn’t tell me what issues were these.

As soon as we opened the car doors, they came near us and they started saying the usual compliments.

          “Do you want some help there now or something?” Jack asked me.

          “No, it’s not necessary, I'll just going to turn on the lights and music.

My friends went to walk around the school, while I went to the decorated pavilion which was looking like a ballroom.

I opened the door had been closed and the lights had been turned off, because, before, I could see the lights coming outside.

          "Are you kidding me?" The light of the street was not enough for me to see and I didn’t know where the switches were. I started to walk, but I hit one of my feet in some part of the stage. I cursed and started to turn back, but I didn’t know where I should go. I turned around as I heard a noise. Instinctively looked around but obviously couldn’t see anyone, due to the lack of light. “Is someone there?” I asked loudly.

        The lights began to flicker and lit up. I looked ahead and there was no one or nothing in the both sides that my vision could capture, I turned back and there he was. With an outfit that was ‘killing’ me. I put a hand on my chest. “You scared me of death...” I walked towards him, while he was observing me. “What do you think?”

        “Caroline, you're always lovely and perfect, but today you're wonderful.” The long red dress with sparkly applications. The heels couldn’t be seen due to the length of the dress, but they were black. My nails and lips were painted meticulously and were the exact color of the dress. The eyeliner and mascara matched the shoes. The hair was pretty simple. And the wavy fringe was stuck with bright hair pins. The bracelet that Klaus gave me couldn’t miss. “You are you using it.” He pulled me to him and was going to kiss me, but I stopped him.
