Chapter 11

She couldn't believe he had just tried to kiss her. No. Not tried, he actually kissed her. Elisa couldn't deny that it had felt good. Magical even. Her whole body was trembling and tingling from his lips. If life had no rules and no consequences, she would have stayed right there. She would have kissed him till he pulled back.

But life did have rules.Life did have consequences.

She couldn't just kiss him. They were not even married!

Plus, her dad used to tell her that she was his little princess and how he hoped she would never marry. Then he would scoop her up in his arms and kiss her cheek, telling her that he was glad that he could be the only man kissing her. And she didn't want to let him down. Not now. Not tomorrow. Not ever.

He was studying the cliff, to know with what to continue after Beau left. Ughh. Beau. Elisa wished she could be disgusted by his name. She wished he was not even worth crying over. She wished she could have been glad when he was gone. But she was not. She had been just as happy to have Beau, as having Will. It wasn't like Will had been here for two months already. He could still screw up.He could still leave her here on the island. He could do even worse things. Like committing suicide.

Even though suicide might have brought her to a better place, it was no option for Elisa. She had never lost her last bit of hope, and suicide was wrong. It was completely wrong. She didn't want to back out of her problems by killing herself. She didn't want to waste all the effort, money and love her mom had put into raising her. Even though her mom wasn't with her, she still loved her, and respected everything she did for her and said to her.

'Alright, so you had math up till "times" and "divided by", so we could do the roots and powers now.' Elisa nodded. She really appreciated that he helped her. She didn't really use all the information she got, but it gave her something to think about. It made her feel smart, and not so different from all these children on the mainland.

Will went explaining about powers and square roots, and Elisa couldn't help but notice his friendly tone. He made sure she understood everything before passing on to the next step. His eyes followed his hand when he drew something in the sand, and then met hers with a friendly smile, asking if she understood it. She definitely understood it, it was not that hard at all.

'Alright. Learning the squares from all numbers up till 15 will make maths easier, though I get the idea that you kind of already know a lot of those.' She blushed. So what if she had been figuring our mathematical things in her head sometimes? It was not like painting all day was fun either.  He looked at her, probably expecting her to answer the question he just asked. Too bad she was to busy thinking that she hadn't heard his question.

He snapped his fingers in front of her face, asking again. 'Shall we continue on with English?' She nodded, and couldn't help but notice that he was so much sweeter and more patient than Beau. And she learned just as much.

'Alright, vocabulary or literature terms?' Elisa had no idea what literature terms were, so knew the answer right away.

'Vocabulary.' Will chuckled.

'Thank god, I suck at anything that has to do with literature.' Elisa lifted an eyebrow. Would he seriously suck at those things? She wrinkled her nose, imagining how disgusting it would be. Why would Will suck at books and papers, because it had to do with literature. Sucking was not the right verb when he was talking about literature right?

Will grinned at her disgusted look. 'I'm sorry, I forgot ladies don't say such things.'

'No one says such things. Let alone do such things.' She said, frowning at him in disbelieve. Suddenly Will understood her disgusted face.
