THE DRIVE TO Oscar's house was silent. The radio wasn't on, and neither of us dared to speak. I fiddled with the black case on my iPhone and stared out the window, occasionally looking over at Oscar. But his eyes were fixed on the road in front of him and his jaw clenched repeatedly as if he was stopping himself from saying the wrong thing.
It isn't until I'm sitting cross-legged on his bed with my phone resting in my lap, that he says something. "You and Elijah..." he trails off, his face void of any expression.
"Why are we always fighting about something?" I wonder aloud, dodging his sentence. "Maybe this is the universes way of telling us that we shouldn't be together."
"I don't care what the universe says." Oscar scoffs, stepping towards me. I watch him sit down beside me with curious eyes and the night we first kissed, replays in my head. "I just care about you." His voice drops a few tones as he brushes a piece of my hair away from my face.
"You're great." I mumble, placing my hand over his, which is now resting on my cheek. "I hope you know that."
"I'm great in bed." He winks playfully, making me groan and roll my eyes.
"You ruined the moment!" I scold him, lightly slapping the back of his head. He simply laughs in response and lifts me as if I weigh nothing and places me on his lap. "If you think you're getting it today, then you're wrong."
"Oh yeah?" He raises his eyebrow amusedly as he snakes his arms around my waist. A warmth spreads through my body at his touch and makes me bite down on my bottom lip.
"Mhm," I hum in response, leaning towards him until my breath is fanning his face. "I'm still mad at you."
"Don't seem like that," Oscar says teasingly, flipping us over so I'm pinned against the bed. I roll my eyes but smile at him nonetheless as I trail my finger along his jawline.
"Trust me, I am," I whisper, holding his chin between my finger and thumb. He shakes his head and pulls his face away from me.
"If you're mad then you won't let me do this," Oscar mumbles before attaching our lips together. Instead of pushing him away, I pull him closer until there's no space left between our bodies and kiss him back. His lips slowly move from my lips to my neck and suck on the skin. "Or this." He mumbles, making me sigh contently when his hot breath hits my neck. His hands trail down my body and his fingers intertwine themselves through the belt loops on my denim jeans. Oscar smirks and pulls away from me, causing me to groan inwardly. "You're not mad." He concludes, resting his hands on the bed on either side of my body.
I rest my hand on the back of his neck. "Shut up and kiss me," I mumble, pulling him closer. He does exactly what I ask, and we kiss each other passionately.
The longer I'm with Oscar, the more I forget about Elijah and everything he did to me. It's as if the world stops and nothing matters when I'm with Oscar.
"We don't have to fuck, you know," Oscar mumbles against my lips, making me giggle softly.
"You're so blunt," I mumble back, lightly pushing him away so I can look into his captivating hazel eyes. "I love it," I whisper, softly caressing his cheek with my thumb.
Something I can't decipher flashes through his eyes, and he slowly moves away from me. I watch his movements with a confused expression across my face. "I'm not your first am I?" Oscar asks lowly as he lies down beside me. I turn my head to face him and a soft sigh escapes my lips. "Elijah was, right?"
"Yeah." I mumble truthfully, shifting my body so I'm lying on my side and facing him. But he makes no effort to look at me. He blankly stares at the ceiling. "That bothers you doesn't it?"
