I WAKE UP screaming and with Oscar's concerned face looking down at me. He helps me sit up as I inhale deep breaths to calm myself. I notice Cesar standing at the foot of the bed, his eyebrows furrowed. "Are you okay?" Oscar asks softly as I run my hand through my messy hair.

I nod my head as my heartbeat slightly slows down. It felt so real. It felt like it was happening again. "Yeah." I breathe, holding my head in my hands. "I'm sorry for waking you up."

"You don't need to apologize," Cesar says as the bed dips down. I peer over my hands and see him sitting in front of me. "We get it." He gives me a small reassuring smile but I can't give him one back.

"I need air," I mumble, rubbing my hands down my face. Oscar nods his head and stands up, walking over to my side of his bed to help me up, even though I don't need his help.

"Let's go for a walk." He offers, putting on the first shirt he sees. He passes me one of his hoodies and I graciously pull it on, inhaling his scent. "Go back to bed Cesar," Oscar says as he intertwines our hands together. Cesar nods his head and walks out of the room, leaving us alone. "You sure you're okay?"

"Don't let Ruby's words get to you," I say quietly, looking down at the floor. "I'm fine."

Oscar inhales a deep breath but doesn't say anything for a few moments. "What can I do to help you? I'll do anything mi amor."

I nervously chew on my bottom lip as I tuck my hair behind my ear. "Just give me some time. That's all I need."

We tug on our shoes and head outside and silently walk around the block for a while, simply enjoying each other's company. The cool air of the night refreshes my skin and helps regulate my breathing. Our hands remain tangled together for the entirety of the walk, and after walking around for a while, we sit on the steps outside his house.

"What was it about?" Oscar speaks quietly, which makes me strain to hear him. "The nightmare." He adds so I know what he's talking about, as he turns his head to look at me.

I inhale a sharp breath as I avert my eyes away from his face. "Elijah," I answer reluctantly, fiddling with the sleeves of Oscar's hoodie. "They always are," I say inaudibly.

"I'll get some Santos to start patrolling your house or something. That way he won't show his stupid ass face." Oscar says, struggling to keep the anger out of his voice.

"Oscar no, that is so unbelievably extra." I scoff as I look over at him. His hazel eyes are already on my face and his lips lift into a scarce smile upon hearing my words.

"Come 'ere." He mumbles, holding out his arm. I comply and shuffle towards him until our bodies are pressed up against each other. He protectively wraps his arm around me and places a soft kiss on the top of my head. "Cami, I will literally do anything for you."

A warmth spreads through my body and a small smile finds it's way onto my face, as I rest my head on his chest. I close my eyes and listen to his shallow breathing. And to think that I almost ruined things between us. "You're amazing Oscar," I whisper, the words barely passing my lips. "Please don't leave me," I mutter as I slowly open my eyes to look up at him.

"I wouldn't even dream of that," Oscar says as he grabs my hand and brings it to his face. His lips softly brush against the tattoo on my finger, and the small gesture sends a blush onto my cheeks. "Ride or die remember?"

"Ride or die," I say softly as I smile up at him. He looks down at me as he drops my hand and cups my face instead. He slightly leans down and connects our lips together. My smile widens against his lips and I can practically feel my worries fading away.

"KNOCK KNOCK BITCH," I hear the voice of my annoying best friend as he waltzes into Oscar's room as if he owns it. "Your boyfriend let me in."

"Isn't that amazing." I sarcastically say as I sit up and put my hair into a messy ponytail. Sam jumps onto the bed and props himself up on his side as he flashes me an innocent smile. "I missed your stupid ass."

"Hey, mans gotta pass otherwise I'll be stuck here in Freedridge for the rest of my life." He sighs sadly as he dramatically clutches his chest. "How many days of school have you skipped young lady?"

I playfully roll my eyes at him as I push the covers off my body, and stand up. "Oh, I don't know. A week maybe?" I say nonchalantly as I walk over to Oscar's closet to grab one of his sweaters.

"A WEEK?" Sam shouts from behind me. "How the hell did your mom let you skip a week? Wait have you just been staying here for a week?! I don't understand what's happening."

I slip on a black hoodie and spin around to face Sam with a sigh. "Oscar called the school and told them I'm sick and I won't be going to school for a week. So I just come over here in the morning's and spend the day with him." I explain what I've been doing for the past week which prompts him to raise an eyebrow. "Speaking of my boyfriend, where is he?"

"I don't know. He was leaving when I showed up and said he'd be back in a bit." Sam shrugs his shoulders as he sits down on the edge of the bed. I nod my head and sit down beside him with a soft sigh.

"So..." I trail off as I glance at my best friend, who I've known for almost my entire life. He turns his head towards me and smiles lightly.

"Ice cream and a Twilight marathon?" He suggests as he gently nudges me with his elbow. I smile and nod my head.

"You read my mind, Garcia," I say as I hop off the bed. I grab his arm and drag him off the bed and towards the door. "Let's go. We've got five movies to watch!"
