It's been three days since me and Ethan's encounter in the kitchen, and I can't stop thinking about what it means.
I remind him of his dead girlfriend?
Who says something like that?
I can't even ask Ethan because he's been ignoring me this whole time.
I haven't gotten a chance to get him alone yet, and I think he's doing it on purpose.
Every time it seems like we might have the remote chance of being left alone together, he bails.
It's a little frustrating considering everything that he told me the other night.
I don't even know why this is bothering me so much, it's not like I actually have feelings for the guy.
I barely even know him.
But then again, I never really gave him a chance...
"Imani, sweetie are you okay? You've barely eaten any of your food." Kelly's mom asks from across the breakfast table.
I stop pushing my eggs lazily around my plate and scoop a forkful into my mouth.
"I'm fine Cheryl, I'm just a bit tired," I say politely, after I'm done chewing.
She smiles sweetly and starts up a conversation with her husband.
I take this opportunity to steal a glance at Ethan, but when I look up, he's already looking my way.
Tilting my head to the side, I give him a small smile as I try and gauge his emotional state.
He holds my gaze for a second longer, before his eyes turn icy and dart away from mine.
"So," Kelly takes a sip of her orange juice, "You ready to experience all of the glory that Los Angeles has to offer?"
I turn to an excited Kelly and nod my head.
"Oh my gosh Kelly I'm so ready! I've always wanted to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame."
I take a bite of the burnt pancakes that I've been avoiding all morning. Regretting the decision immediately, I discretely spit it out into a napkin as Kelly talks.
"It's amazing, and just wait til you see the Hollywood sign, it-"
Ethan stands abrubtly from the table, his chair screeching along the hardwood floor.
"Careful son, you'll scratch up the floors," his father chuckles.
Ethan simply ignores him, rolling his eyes as he grabs his plate and heads towards the kitchen.
Kelly flashes me a look that mirrors my equally confused face, and we watch as Cheryl gently grabs hold of Ethan's arm.
"Honey are you alright?" She asks softly, with a worried expression.
