Imani POV

"Ethan please!" I call after him as he storms out of the house. I wait at the doorway and watch as he gets into his car and speeds away.

He doesn't even look back once.

My nose scrunches up as a fresh set of angry tears well up in my eyes. Balling my fists, I turn to Will.

"I hope you're happy." I practically spit at him as he stands in the same spot I left him.

His eyes narrow as he opens his mouth to speak.

"Did somebody order balloons?!" Kelly interrupts as she walks through the front door. She's carrying an unnecessary amount of ballons and wearing a sparkly party hat.

"What the?!" She shouts, accidentally stepping on the smashed cake lying abandoned on the floor. She wipes her shoe off on the floor before looking up at me.

"What..." She glances around the room in confusion. "...happened in here?" I can practically see the wheels spinning in her mind as she tries to process the situation.

Kelly looks from Will to me and finally back to Will. "What did you do?" She asks, fury dripping from her words, her tone sharp and accusatory.

The balloons, once in her hands, float to the ceiling as she balls her fists in anger. Her face is pink and flustered, and her mouth begins to twitch the longer she looks at him.

"Imani." She growls, her brown eyes trained on Will with intent. "What did he do?"

I open and close my mouth trying trying in vain to organize my foggy mind. "He-"

I'm cut off by Will's brazen laugh. "I didn't do anything that she didn't want...She was practically asking for-"

He doesn't even get to finish before Kelly's fist connects with his face.

"Ow," she winces, her voice high pitched as glances at me and shakes out her hand. "That looks way less painful in the movies."

Will stands there in shock, holding the right side of his face. "What the fuck? You punched me!"

Kelly places her hands on her hips and puffs out her chest as she glares up at him. "And there's more where that came from if you don't get yo bitch ass outta here!"

Will's nostrils flair in anger, and an animal like growl escapes his mouth, as he holds out his hands as if strangling the air around her. Finally he breathes in deeply and brushes past her shoulder.

"Crazy bitch," he mumbles under his breath as he walks out the door.

"Oh I got yo bitch right here!" She calls, following after him.

"Kelly!" I shout, following her, "Calm down. Let him go." I grab her by the waist, and drag her back inside. "He's not worth it." I mumble as I close the door.

"I know," she grumbles, "but I'm willing to stoop to his level and beat his ass for messing with my best friend..."

Kelly continues to ramble, but I can't seem to focus on her words. My heart still hurts as I think about what just happened with Will and Ethan. I let out shaky breath as I rest my forehead against the door.
