Kelly POV
"You ready to go home?" Imani asks, standing up from the booth.
Home.
Home makes me think of Ethan and all of the terrible things that I said and did to him.
My face falls.
I can't go home.
"Um," I check the time on my phone.
The diner doesn't close for another twenty minutes...
"I think I'll just wait here a while." I say.
I watch as Imani's smile faulters slightly.
"Hey," I place my hand on her arm. "I'll see you later."
"Maybe we can watch Pretty Woman when you get home?" She pulls her keys from her pocket and looks at me with a hopeful gaze.
She knows that's my favorite movie.
I can't help but smile. "It's a date."
Imani smiles, rocking on the balls of her feet. "Okay, well I guess I'll see you at the house."
She turns on her heels and walks towards the door.
Should I stay or should I go?
My heart races as I try to make up my mind.
"Wait, Imani!" I call, causing, Sandra, the hostess to glance my way.
Imani stops in the doorway with raised brows. "Yeah?"
Stay?
Go?
Stay?
Go?
. . .
Stay.
"Um, drive safe, okay?" I mumble pathetically and she smiles, chuckling.
"I'll text you when I get home, if you text me when you leave." She winks, slipping out the doorway.
I sigh, falling back into the seat.
I'm such a coward.

It's really dark out by the time I get in my car and head home.
I'm still a little confused on how Imani and Ethan got together, but there's nothing I can do about it now and I'd just be an asshole if I were to stand in their way.
Even if I do think that they won't work out...
I climb into my truck and plug my phone into the aux, blasting my music. I drum my fingers on the steering wheel and hum to the music as I drive.
There aren't many cars out tonight, and I'm thankful because sometimes I get anxious driving in traffic or with a lot of people.
I swear one of these days my indecisiveness is gonna get me killed.
I pull up at to a red light, and glance to my left as handsome man in a red sports car rolls up beside me.
I smirk at him and he smiles back politely.
Tearing away my gaze, I scrunch up my nose as the song on my playlist that I always skip comes on.
I don't know why I still have it if I always skip it, but I'm too lazy to remove it.
I grab my phone from the cup holder and change the song. I haphazardly drop my phone back onto the center console, and it slips, falling near my feet with a dull thud.
I curse, unbuckling and putting the car in park, before quickly grabbing my phone.
I bump my head on the steering wheel, when the car behind me honks obnoxiously.
Chill.
The light just turned green.
I wince slightly as I rub the sore spot on my head. As I glare at the car behind me in my rearview mirror, I put the car in drive, and accelerate forward.
When I glance back at the road, I barely have time to register the oncoming eighteen wheeler in my peripherals before it collides with the side of my car.
And in an instant my world fades to black.

A/N: This isn't relevant to the story, but y'all I almost died today😭
If you guys didn't know, I do pole vault. And I never understood why people would always be like "oh my gosh I couldn't do that I'd be too scared to get hurt"
UNTIL TODAY
Y'all I fell from 9ft today onto mf concrete. I missed the mat and fell into the pit. (It was probably my fault bc I slowed down, but whatever...NOBODY TRIED TO CATCH ME)
Long story short, I messed up my shoulder and neck and now I can't run in the meet on Saturday🙃
So yeah, now my whole body just hurts, but thankfully I didn't break anything.
Anyways, I really hope you guys had a better day than me lol.
Until next time,
-Kay♡
