Ch. 21

Laf's POV:

     It's been a couple of weeks since Herc and I went to therapy.  He's still coming with me every week (sometimes I think he's hearing more information about me then I would like him to know) and for the most part I think they've been going well, it helps that Phillipa is amazing.

     It's the first day of school today and after school we're all going to go do karaoke afterwards.  I get everything I need and head out of my house, Herc is already outside waiting for me when I come out and I take his hand. "Hi" I say with a smile looking up at him.

     He looks down at me, "hi" he says with a smile.

     We walk hand and hand all the way to school and walk up through the parking lot and join in with the group of our friends huddled up by the door.

     I look at them as Herc and I squeeze in, "hey guys" I say with a smile.

     They all look back at me and say there hellos then slowly start to go back to there conversations.  Eliza and Maria aren't really paying attention because they're both standing hand in hand looking into each others eyes.  I look at them and giggle.  I take a stick from the ground and throw it at them, it hits Eliza and it takes her a second to figure out something hit her, then she looks up, "what was that for" she asks.

     I giggle at them, "wanted to see if you guys were still alive" I say jokingly and everyone laughs.

     The bell rings and we all go our to our classrooms.

     Herc and I were walking down the hall and I see Thomas standing by the lockers rolling his eyes at me and Herc as we pass. I'm tired of this, this crap has been going on for months.

     I let go of Herc's hand and turn around and walk up to Thomas,"something wrong?" I say looking at him furiously, "hey Thomas, just because you can't find someone stupid enough to actually date a idiotic jerk like you doesn't mean you have to judge me because I found the best freaking person in the world" I say raising my voice so it was almost at a yell. 

     Thomas just shrugs "are you just going to have your big boyfriend beat me up again cause I said something to hurt your little feelings" he says in a baby voice.

     I laugh at him "no I'm not" I say staring at him.  He looks at me slightly confused, and I smile at him, and I swing my arm back and punch him right in the face.

     Thomas staggers back and brings his hand to his face, "so, Thomas you have a problem?" I say, my nose twitching.  Thomas looks up at me with what looked like the most satisfying look of fear.  He quickly shakes his head no and starts to walk backward and runs into the lockers then runs off.

     I look around and see everyone staring at me and clapping, I look at Herc and see his mouth hanging open, "holy crap, I didn't know you could do that!" He says astonished.

     I grab his hand "there are a lot of things you don't know about me" I say with a smirk as we walk to our class.

     I get through the rest of the day ok ,every now and then seeing Thomas looking at me then looking away quickly when I caught him, Herc and I walk out of the school together and go our separate ways, "see you tonight at karaoke?" Herc calls back to me.

     I turn around and nod my head "yep, see you then" I say with a smile walking backwards.

     I get to my house and tell my sister about what I did to Thomas and she high fives me.  I don't tell my parents cause they still don't know what Thomas did to me so I quickly change the subject when they get home from work.

     I get ready to go out (which is changing my sweats for jeans) then get some money and as I finish Herc knocks on the door.  I run to the door and open it. "Hey you ready" he says looking down at my.  I nod my head and we walk out to the van with everyone else inside already.

     We get there and it's pretty empty, it was pretty much us and a couple of older people at the bar.

      Everyone sings a song then it was Herc's turn to go up.  He gets up there and starts to sing Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars.  I start to slightly tear up as he sings the lyrics looking into my eyes.

     He gets done and he comes down and kisses me.  Everyone just sits there awestruck. "Herc, you never told us you could sing" Alex says with his mouth almost touching the ground.

     We all giggle and everyone said it was my turn.  I walk up to the stage and all I can see are the blinding lights shining in my eyes.
