"You are still worried about Tim and Todd, aren't you?" I asked Edd. His constant grumbling was starting to get really annoying.
"Who...? Oh, you mean Tom and Tord! Yeah, you're right, I am worried about them," he sighed and leaned back into the sofa.
The film was over and we had decided to watch 'The Children' out of pure boredom. With Tom and Tord gone, any previous plans were thrown out of the window. You just couldn't do much with just two people. Not that I minded, really. But Edd didn't actually watch the show all that much as kept getting distracted. I wasn't the type of person who cared much when other people were worried since I had my own things to deal with, but it felt wrong to enjoy a funny show when someone sat next to you and was worried about someone else the entire time.
"Edd, stop thinking about them. I really can't enjoy 'The Children' while you are so worried," I pouted.
"I'm not worried, just thinking something might have happened to them. They are acting all strange and... They are definitely hiding something. They have a problem, but they won't tell me what it is," he groaned, digging his nails into a couch pillow. "I thought friends would help each other. Instead, they keep secrets from me. It's not fair!"
Poor Edd, he really should care less about them. Like me. It would be a lot easier if everyone thought like me, honestly. I just needed to make him laugh or at least worry less somehow, so I could enjoy the show in peace.
"What do you think they are doing? Killing each other?" I asked jokingly.
"Oh my god, you are right! They might hurt each other! We need to stop them!" He jumped on his feet. Okay, yeah, that was definitely the wrong thing to say.
"Edd, please, calm down. They already told you they don't need your help. Why bother getting hurt when they should deal with it themselves? Why get involved?"
He looked at me. "I am just worried about them... and angry." He sighed. "Do you even care about them at all?"
"Er...I..." Oh, I... I still didn't know who Todd was and I didn't really get along well with Tim, so...
"Just... forget what I asked you," Edd mumbled.
"Okay! Just sit there and calm down while I get myself a drink," I said and walked in the kitchen. I got myself milk and a cookie to enjoy after Edd had sorted out his issues. When I came back into the living room, Edd had a suspicious smile on his face. I frowned before shrugging. At that very moment, I didn't think much of it, but that turned out to be a fatal mistake.
"Hey Matt?" he smirked.
"Yes?" I looked at him, biting down on my cookie.
"Do you know Tom and Tord are burning your toy collection in there? I thought I should keep it from you originally, but I decided you should know. Getting rid of all your stuff feels wrong."
"NOOOOOOOOO!!!" I screamed and ran to the room as fast as I could. Not my toy collection! How could they possibly do something like that?! Edd followed me, maliciously grinning. One kick and the stupid door was destroyed.
"Holy-"
"-Fuck." I could hear two voices, but I didn't care about them. The mix of fear and rage was all that I focused on.
"Okay, where is my toy collection?!" I shouted. "Give it back or fear my wrath!"
"Thank you for opening the door for me, Matt. You are a great friend," Edd smiled. That was the moment I realized he just played a trick on me just so he could make me do something that he wanted. Again. But...did he just call me a great friend? Yes, I'm awesome!! FINALLY, he recognized this!
