Matt - Sorry... not really

We walked back to Tom's room and knocked on the door, but there was no answer. I was starting to get more and more nervous by the second. What if they had just left? What if they had had enough of us and decided to...? No, they wouldn't do that, they didn't like being outside as a fusion where everyone could see them.

"Tom? Tord? Please, I am sorry for telling Edd!" I said. Still no answer. "...Okay, I am not actually all that sorry to be honest, I think you behave like overdramatic drama queens, but could you please come out?"

"No! Stop bothering us! You fucked up enough!"

"Come on! Don't act like an offended kid who didn't get sweets! You can't stay in there forever and you know it! The secret is out now and-"

"Yes, we can. And you can't tell us otherwise. So just leave!"

"Torm! Come out immediately! We want to talk to you and then we'll leave again!" Edd shouted. "What you're doing is just ridiculous! You can't just lock yourself in there forever like a stubborn child!" I nodded enthusiastically even though nobody except him could see. It really was pointless to stay in there when everyone was aware of their problem now. They had nothing to hide. They were acting unreasonable.

"This still isn't my name, Edd! How many times do we have to tell you?!"

"It's not my fault you won't come out..." Edd replied. "But seriously, what's the big deal with being fused forever? You two might finally get along! This is a chance for you two to become friends! How did you even figure out it's forever in the first place...?"

"Just fucking leave! You can beg as much as you want, we won't come out!"

I frowned. "But we want to help-"

"No! Just leave us alone! We don't want to talk with you or do anything else you want us to!" Tom and Tord yelled in unison.

"Why? It's probably a lot better for you to just talk about it rather than stay in there," I replied.

"Talk about it?" Tom repeated in disbelief. "Talk about it?! Did you lose the rest of your nonexistent braincells?! What is there to even talk about?! You know everything already!"

"And with you two? Are you serious, Matt? That's a bad joke." Tord asked. Ouch. That honestly stung a bit...

"Edd thinks it's actually GOOD for us to be like this!" Yeah, that was true. I wouldn't be happy either if I was stuck with someone I hated and someone told me that as a response. They had a point.

"So why the hell should we?!"

I glanced at Edd who just shrugged. "Maybe we can climb through their window..." he muttered. "We just have to sneak through our garden without the neighbours making a scene again."
His idea wasn't... that bad? Tom and Tord wouldn't see it coming... They would probably think we were waiting in front of their door until they came out again. They'd be in for a shock about us suddenly appearing right behind them... but they might also get really pissed and start hurting me...

"And don't even think about climbing through the window!" they shouted. Yeah, nevermind, they were one step ahead of us anyway...

"Maybe we should ask the neighbours to kick in the door..." Edd suggested, stroking his chin.

"Um... Why don't we do that ourselves? I saw you carrying a tank once, I think you can handle kicking a door in," I replied.

"Matt, this would be a win-win situation!" He put a hand on my shoulder. "We get them out of there and Eduardo has to pay for the broken door."

Call me stupid, but I didn't get that. Why would that make any sense? As if our neighbour would do that for us in the first place. Eduardo would never pay for any of Edd's stuff. He just didn't care enough about the things we owned unless he wanted to prove he had something 'better' like a spoiled brat in kindergarten. And if it came out Edd tricked him, Edd would be the one who had to pay money in court.

He would most likely fight with Edd again anyway, like when they had these strange superhero abilities a while back. Even Tom and Tord had a better relationship with each other most of the time before Tord had decided to leave, and they had basically been two men who hated each other with all of their heart, but were forced to live in the same house, sharing the same friends.

"Alright..." I muttered to not anger him, but Edd had already rushed out of the room.

I began to follow him, biting on my lip, but the second I took the first step to see what he'd do the door of Tom's room opened. I didn't have any time to react when the fusion grabbed me by my hair and pulled me inside. "AAAAAH! NOOOO! DON'T HURT ME!"

"Be quiet, you idiot! We don't want Edd to notice we opened the door!" Tom hissed into my ear, while they closed the door behind us, locking it in record time. They peeked through the keyhole.

"But I want him to-"

"What you want doesn't MATTer!" They back towards me, giving me a death glare.

"Okay, that was mean, even for you," Tom muttered. "And since when do you make puns?"

"Shut! Up!" Tord growled.

"You know me, so you should know I won't listen to you, commie," Tom replied.

"Why... why did you pull me in here?" I questioned. "D-do you... do you want to hurt my beautiful face?!" I squeaked the last part, very close to freaking out. They had threatened me with something horrible if I revealed their secret. And now it was out. I was done for. I covered my face to protect it from them, trembling in fear.

"Oh my god, Matt, you are so stupid!" The fusion facepalmed.

"We think it is better to talk to you because you don't seem to think this is actually good for us like Edd does... even if you're still a self-centred idiot."

"And... what do you want to talk about?" I asked curiously.

"I want you to listen carefully," they said with a serious expression on their face. They grimaced, muttering something that sounded like 'Stop saying the same thing as me'.

"O-okay, go on."

"Tord thinks... Tord thinks there is something going on with us. And I'm starting to think that as well." They had a concerned expression on their face as they leaned against the wall and sighed, not meeting my curious gaze. "For a while we have already heard each others thoughts and felt each others feelings every once in a while, but now... we have started to remember each others memories," Tord explained. "Or at least I did."

"Alright... What's the problem with that?" I questioned, my eyes wide.

"Matt, you don't understand!" Tom shouted. "Don't you see how big of a deal this is?!"

"We are starting to become one person!" they yelled. "And we have no idea how to stop this since we can't separate!"

They were... becoming one person? Cool, I could make a new friend! My popularity would rise in no time! How great was that? A loud bang interrupted our conversation.

"What the-?!"

"Hello, suckers!" Edd stood there, behind a giant whole in Tom's wall as he dropped a huge rock, grinning like he had just broken a world record. "What's all about this becoming one person thing?"

"Why me?" the fusion muttered. "What did I do to deserve this?"
