The fusion quickly got to Tom's room, each step steadier than the last. They really were getting better at this. When they reached their destination, they immediately locked the door behind them with a sigh of relief.
"...so we are going to go like this in public now..." Tord muttered.
"It looks like we are," Tom groaned. "Edd and Matt are so annoying! They actually think this is good! The friend of the year award will definitely go to those bastards..."
There was a long, awkward silence between them until Tord said, "We should probably hide my journal. I don't want Edd and Matt to read it and find out...you know, we won't turn back to normal anymore." They still had no idea how to process this. In a way, they had partially accepted it while also denying that it was true. It couldn't be true.
"Agreed. But do you really think Matt would figure it out?" Tom asked. "Maybe Edd, but Matt would never get it. His intelligence is... questionable."
Tord thought about it for a moment. It was true, Matt wasn't really good at figuring things out by himself. He mighg think about it for a while, but then get distracted by something more appealing to him and forget it soon enough, like always. "Yeah, I guess you're right."
"But I do have an idea where we could hide it, commie..." Tom took control over their body and kneeled down to slowly pull out a box from under his bed. Someone, most likely Tom, had written down 'Don't touch or open! You will regret it!' on its cover.
"I don't think something like that is going to keep Edd away from it," Tord said with a frown. Edd was a curious guy and when there was somebody telling him NOT to do something, he would definitely do it. That was just who he was.
Tom chuckled. "That's where you're wrong." Not waiting for an answer, he just opened the box. It was filled entirely with Pepsi cans and bottles. "First rule to hide something from Edd: put it somewhere Edd would never look in. Edd hates Pepsi even more than diet coke. He doesn't even want to touch that stuff," Tom explained with a smug grin and buried the book deep under the Pepsi.
"I... didn't know that," Tord replied.
"You don't know a lot of things, commie..." Tom murmured under his breath, his thoughts on the monster he would sometimes turn into. He hoped it had finally stopped now that he was fused with Tord. He had almost no control over it, although he was slowly getting better at gaining at least a little bit back. He just didn't want Tord to find out about it. That would simply be horrible. But maybe if he stopped transforming, just maybe, there was something positive about this nightmare after all. He put the box back under the bed with a sigh.
