Chapter 13

There was an eerie silence in the whole room and Garrus was waiting patiently for Miranda to say something. Miranda just sighs and slides a file to Garrus that has a classified stamp on it. Garrus opens the file and sees a photo of you and a detailed info about your past life.

" Garrus, Blaze is not an average person... she was only 8 when her home was invaded by mercenaries. She saw her family being killed right in front of her eyes. Blaze was tortured by those mercenaries, with what little strength she had left she some how escaped from her captors and soon stumbled upon the alliance. She was rescued by Captain Anderson, as you know.... but what you do not know that after her ship exploded she was captured by collectors in order to become their greatest weapon."

Garrus just listened carefully, he wanted to know what you had actually been through... so he could protect you from people or creatures like the collectors from harming you.

As I was finally able to gain consciousness, I noticed that I was in the Medbay. "Why am I so weak?" I said to myself in an continuous loop. My heart was beating at an uncontrollable rate, my breathing was getting heavy and a piercing heading seems to loom over me by the second. It was clear that I could feel its control over me, if I loose conscious now I would become a monster.

Soon tears had started to form from my eyes and my vision became blurry, " I am so weak..." I said to myself, this time loudly in order to let out the pent up frustration and anger that had bee bottled up inside of me.

" You are not weak... you are the strongest and most bravest person I have ever know." said a voice that was full of command and authority. I looked up from the floor and saw the one and only commander, standing there leaning by the door frame.... looking at me with tears in her eyes....

She walked towards me and crouched down to meet my eye level, " Blaze What ever you are going through.. you will not go through with it alone.. the whole crew will be there for you and I will be personally be there for you.. cause you are my sister..." she said while having tears in her eyes.

She hugged me tightly, almost as if making sure that I was real... "do you know... how long I tried to find you... do you know for how long I tried to get in touch with you after I got to know that Anderson had taken you in ..... so you know how it feels when you get to know that your sister was tortured and you could not do anything..." she said while pulling me closer than ever.

I just sighed, I pushed Shepard back and wiped the tears off her face. I smiled, " I know it was hard for you Shepard, but know that I had to sever my connections with you as soon as possible... I was a threat to you.. after what they had done to me I could no longer face you... I am no longer Human...." I said while continuously wiping her tears away.

" what do you mean, when you say that you are not human..." Shepard asked while looking at me with a hint of curiosity. I pushed away, making some space between the two of us... "Shepard you have seen a lot when when you fought Sovereign... you saw what they are capable of... what they can do to organic life... making them transform into mechanical beings doing there biding... all I can say." I said while looking towards the floor.

Shepard had look of clear amazement and astonishment, she did not know what I truly was capable of doing... I just did not want her to know, I want her to remember me as a human not a asset or tool to be used for the greater good or evil.

Shepard just had a dazed look of confusion on her face, not understanding what I was, when she was about to ask a question. Miranda had walked in... just in time.

" Shepard, we have reached Horizon. I think you need to suit up." she said while directing Shepard towards the med bay doors. I just waved at her and mouthed a 'good luck'. Shepard just smiled and headed towards the mission area. Miranda had closed the door and had look them.

" Okay, Blaze. Its time you also suit up." she said, which surprised me to some extent.

"What do you mean by suiting up... Miranda I cannot leave the place... you know what's down there." I said while clenching my fists. Miranda patted my back and said "then show them you can fight, you are an unbeatable solider Blaze."

I smiled and got up from the Medbay to get to the mission area. Soon when I reached the medbay area I started feeling an eerie feeling behind me but I brushed it off. I quickly reached the mission assembly area, and I saw Shepard with Mordin and Garrus. I shouted out to Shepard to get her attention. "Mind if I join in commander?" I said with my eyebrows raised. "not a problem solider." she said while throwing me my suit in order for me to gear up.

I geared up and loaded up my guns.... but something wrong was going to happen soon and I did not like it one bit.
