Chapter 15

" Blaze snap out of it, you are not yourself." a voice echoed throughout my head.

My eyes opened and I found myself waking around a dark forest. Oily shadows whispered my name and only one word echoes prominently...

" Murderer"

" No please I am not one. I am innocent." I said again and again to myself.

Fear had grasped me into its arms, I could not escape from the monster that I was.

I screamed and thrashed all around until I felt a pair of arms embrace me.

I looked up and saw the man who vowed to protect me always..

" it's time to fight back, Blaze."

I opened my eyes slowly and heard a soft beeping sound coming from next to me.

I tried to get up but I felt a surging pain in my head. As if a hot needle had pierced through my head.

What was that pain about. I tried to lift up my arm but something had a strong grip on it...

More like someone....

I looked at my side and saw Garrus holding my arm tightly. I knew I was in the medbay of the Normandy.

I saw Garrus breathing steadily and holding my hand more tightly.

" (y/n)... Please... Come back to me." he said on a soft voice.

I smiled a little and shook him awake a little. He bolted up right, almost worried as if he lost me when he was sleeping.

I took my hand from his grasp and touched his cheek. " You were worried about me, huh? That's new. " I said in a joking manner.

I wanted to lighten up the mood that had suddenly gone serious, when Garrus looked at me with an intense stare.

He caressed my hand that had touched his cheek. " (y/n).... I though I lost you to the damn reapers control. I thought...." he said with a look of despair clearly written on his face.

I looked away from his intense stare and found intrest in looking at the medbay floor.

Garrus captured my chin in his hand and refocused my attention to his eyes.

I could not hide from those eyes anymore...

They were beaconing
.. More like begging me to tell him everything, to trust him and especially...

To let him into my heart....

" Tell me (y/n), why won't you let me in? Why wont you let me protect you. " he said while just looking into my eyes with those beautiful electric blue eyes.

" I don't know what to say to you Garrus. I am monster, who finds honor in her own sins... Can you actually save..? I said in a light voice.

I dropped my hand that was touching his cheek and looked the other way.

Garrus brought one of his hands to capture my chin again and this time, he brought his face closer to mine.

" No but I can try (y/n), if you just let me in. " he said while caressing my cheek.

" I can't Garrus.... I cant let you jump into hells fire with me." I said while looking into his eyes.

" It's not your decision to make... It's mine. And I choose to protect you by jumping with you." he said while leaning in closer.

Our lips only having a slight gap...

" Garrus, please dont do this. " I said while trying to hold back my tears..

" I beg you please... " I said in a shallow whisper.

" Too late (y/n), I am already in too deep. " he said then closing the gap between our lips.

The kiss itself had a different meaning than the one that we shared in the elevator that day.

This was holding more passion and love. I could feel Garrus's arms wrap around me and pull me closer and I wrapped my arms around his neck.

When he pulled away I could feel myself smile.

He looked at me with a look of love and care. Then the words that came out of his mouth was something I though I would never hear.

" (y/n), I love you."
