The following morning, Elena woke up in Klaus' comfortable bed. She was alone there, but there was a message from Klaus lying on the pillow next to her saying that he had to take care of something important but that he would come back soon. Elena wasn't ready to face the consequences of her night amusement, so she quickly started to get dressed. There was no way she would walk out in that glorious dress she had worn to Jenna's wedding because it would be clear to the people she could meet on the street that she had spent the night at someone's place and that it probably wasn't innocent. Therefore, she put on Klaus's tightest T-shirt and jeans and she rushed away. She left the dress on the floor, where they had ended up at night.
On her way home, she fished out her mobile phone to call Bonnie. She knew that her friend would be mad at her for what she'd done, but she desperately needed to talk it over with her. She had the feeling that if she didn't immediately confide in someone, she'd explode. Moreover, she didn't know what to do and she could use any advice she could get.
Bonnie answered the phone practically right away. 'Please, tell me you haven't done anything stupid,' she growled at her instead of a greeting.
Elenka gulped guiltily. 'Why do you think so?'

'I've spoken with Damon. According to him, you left the wedding with Klaus,' Bonnie cleared it up in a tone that made it very obvious that she didn't approve of her behaviour.
'That's true,' admitted Elena. Suddenly, she wasn't sure whether it had been such a good idea to call Bonnie. Maybe she should have tried Caroline instead. But she could never keep a secret... And the last thing Elena wished for was half of Mystic Falls chatting about her night with Klaus.
'Did he at least escort you home?'
'Well... in fact... He escorted me to his own house,' mumbled Elena.
'You can't be serious! But nothing happened, right?' Elena was silent and Bonnie's voice got louder. 'Or did it?'
'I didn't plan it, I really didn't, but... all of the sudden, I was just back at the beginning, confused, out of control...' Elena's eyes filled up with tears because she really was confused and she regretted her actions, even though she felt so nice with Klaus.
Bonnie didn't speak for a few seconds as if she was making a decision whether to start yelling at her or not, but in the end, she just sighed. 'You never learn, Elena. And what are you gonna do now?'
'If only I knew... You know, I acted half on behalf of love, but half...' She made a pause and thought about whether to tell Bonnie that Stefan was still interested in her... And what was more substantive, that she might still be interested in him.
'Half what?'
'Did you know that Stefan never stopped loving me?' Elena threw in as casually as possible so that Bonnie couldn't deduce anything.
'Sure. I have eyes and ears,' muttered Bonnie. 'Why are you telling me that?' Then her senses sharpened. 'Wait, so it's still working?'
Elena frowned and she stopped in the middle of a pedestrian crossing. A couple of cars hooted at her and only then did she move. 'What's supposed to be working?'
Bonnie froze. She forgot that Elena didn't know about the spell. Some time ago, she took care of Elena to still be attracted to Stefan... But she believed that the effects of that had disappeared a long, long time ago. But it clearly wasn't like that. And now she almost spilt everything!
'What's supposed to be working?' Elena repeated more strictly. 'You're keeping something from me!'
'Nothing, I swear!'
'Bonnie Bennett! You have been my best friend for years. Do you honestly think that I can't tell when you're lying?'
'Elena, I... I did it to protect you...'
'WHAT did you do?' Elena was losing patience. She was overwhelmed by a huge wave of rage. She was starting to realise that the little witch who played an awesome friend had been involved in all that emotional mess. 'Don't make me find out the bad way, Bonnie!'
'Why don't you invite your amazing boyfriend to join you and why don't you two torture me together?' snapped Bonnie, whose level of anger was also rising.
'Don't dramatise it! I would never actually hurt you!'
'And I would never hurt you. So realise it,' said Bonnie and she hang up.
Elena stared at the black display of her phone for a while thinking whether she should follow Bonnie and force her to give away what she had done to her.  But despite what she'd just said, she was worried that she wouldn't contain herself and she'd hurt her. It was clear to her that this was the Salvatores' job. She thus turned on her heel and headed towards their house, ready to get answers.
