Chapter 2

I woke up and got changed. I already made soup the other day before the party for Mary and Olivia. I put the container in the back seat of my Range Rover and then drove to Ava's to pick up Ruji and then to pick up Hunter from the dog sitter. As I finally made it to the drive way Ruji and Ava were already outside waiting. I got out of the car and hugged my 11 year old son who smiled.
"Thank you so much Ava, this really means a lot! Oh I almost forgot." I said as I walked back to the car and opened the back door and took out the soup that was in a big Tupperware container. "This is for your little sweethearts, I hope they feel better."
"Thank you, and Ruji was very well behaved and well mannered."
"Thank you. I will see you soon." I said as I helped Ruji put his bags in the trunk and then we got in the car and we waved goodbye as we drove off.
"So How was your stay with Mrs. Ava?"
"It was good mom!" He said not taking his eyes off of his phone as he played some battle simulator.
"You didn't cause any trouble did you?" I asked and he shook his head no.
"Good just making sure." I said as I sighed 'kids these days always on their phones or iPads.' I thought as I opened the door and hunter just came back from his walk with the dog sitter. The second I opened the back door he jumped in and started licking Rujis face.
"Hey!!" He laughed as I walked toward the dog sitter and got hunter's things and payed her. With that I drove home and Ruji and hunter got accustomed to their new surroundings, I just started making lunch.
"Hey mom?" Ruji asked as he walked over to me.
"Yes?" I said as I started making skirt stake, and I already had a banana smoothie in the blender.
"Is it ok if we go to the park later? So I can make friends or something?"
"Sure? Why not? Stay here though I'm almost done. Can you please feed hunter or set the table?"
"Ok." He said as he got out the forks and knives. Once the table was set we sat down to eat and hunter just sat down next to me staring at the food. His fluffy tail wagged so I walked over to his food bowl and gave him a small peace and washed my hands. After eating we all got back in the car and we drove to the park once we got to the park Ruji just sat on the phone and started playing a game.
"Ruji? I though you wanted to make friends? I drove you all this way to the park cause you said you wanted to go and you are still on your phone."
"I'm waiting for someone who is almost here."
"What do you mean?" I asked as I watched him get up and walk over to a girl with brown hair green eyes and tan skin who looked to be about his age.
"Hi Sadie." He said and smile as the girl waved.
"Hey Ruji! How are ya!" She smiled and ran over to him.
"Mom this is Sadie, I met her via my game. She is very nice." I was a bit shocked after all I told him to be careful when playing on line but at least she is who he said she is. Her mother walked over to me.
"Did you know about this?"
"Actually no, I didn't." I said as I looked at the two kids play tag or race around.
"Sadie and I are going to have a talk when we get home."
"Trust me same here, I'm (y/n) by the way."
"Samantha, thought your son doesn't seem bad, I just wish they met on different terms, you know how the internet is these days."
"Yes, and your daughter seems like a nice young lady. Maybe we can go to the Dragon Slayers Concert on Wednesday so that they can get to know each other a bit more."
"You like the Dragon Slayers?"
"Yes actually they are my favorite band."
"Thant's nice. Are you Rujis mom or his sister, you don't seem that old."
"He is my adoptive son. I adopted him at age 15 cause his father went missing and his mother was killed, I understand what it's like to have your family taken away from you." I said as I watched the two kids playing when I saw a guy with a hood stare at them. "Ruji! Why don't you and your friend come over here!" I said and Samantha Nodded when she realized what was going on.
"What's wrong?" Sadie asked as the two kids walk over to us.
"It's nothing it's just we don't want you guys to be running off were we can't see you." Samantha said and Ruji nodded.
"Mom.. the guy in the hood who is he? He seems familiar but I don't know. I can't see his face." Ruji said and Sadie looked at the man in the hood who was leaning against a tree.
"I don't know, just stay close." I said and he nodded and he and Sadie Sadie walked a few feet away and started talking. I turned my head for a second to see the hooded Man staring at me his face was covered by a shadow. Feeling uncomfortable I got up and walked over to the kids. "Hey, Ruji it's time for us to go."
"Aww..." the kids said in unison.
"Don't worry I got Sadie's mom's phone number so you guys can hang out and we are all planning to go see the Dragon Slayers on Wednesday." I said and they smiled and I said goodbye to Samantha. As I walked to the car I couldn't help but feel something staring at me, it was quite unsettling, non the less I got in the car and we went home.
