A Thousand Mistakes

Chapter Fifteen

I learned that moms boyfriends name is Harry Styles. He's 35 years old and has a cat named Dusty and a hamster named Hamster. His favorite food is tacos and he dislikes swearing a lot. Well he has to get used to me then. Also his favorite color is orange.

He seems like a good guy and keeps a smile on my moms face. I guess I could deal with him but I would have to meet him first.

"So mom, when am I going to meet Harry?"

I was walking downstairs when I seem a brown curly haired guy sitting on the couch with my mom. They both looked back. Harry had beautiful green eyes that sparkled underneath the light of the living room chandelier. He smiled at me and I noticed he had dimple in his left cheek and a British accent. My mom knocked me out of our staring contest.

"Actually honey this is him"

My mom pulled Harry off the couch and brought him over to me.

"Harry this is my daughter Emily. Emily this is Harry"

I spoke first shaking his soft hand.

"Hi I've heard so much about you."

"And same goes to you."

"Emily, Harry"

I didn't noticed my mom had left and was now calling us from the kitchen. We walked over while she poured some white wine for us. She didn't normally let me drink unless we had company but I wasn't complaining.

My mom made spaghetti for dinner while me and Harry talked at the table. It was nice getting to know him and he seemed to care a lot for my mom. I could tell by the way he looked at her when they talked. I want someone to look at me and care for me the way Harry cared for my mother.

Dinner had finished cooking and I was making the table and pouring more wine into our glasses. I didn't notice how much time had pasted while I was talking to Harry. He has already been here for three hours and now he was eating dinner with us.

Dinner was quite and awkward. It wasn't normally this quite. We usually this weird but it was okay. I had already drank six glasses of wine without mom knowing. She only let's me drink two but she hadn't noticed until after dinner when I asked her if she needed help cleaning.

"Ayy ma, mom, d-do you need any uummm help cleaning?"

"No sweetie. Just wondering how much have you drank today?"

Before I could answer I passed out on the couch.

I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me carrying me upstairs.

"Don't worry I got her"

"Okay thank you, she doesn't normally get like this while we have company"

"Its okay I don't mind"

I was now put on my bed with a blanket tucked around my body and my shoes off. My mom and Harry kissed my forehead and told me goodnight.

I woke up in my bed the next morning. All I could remember is being carried upstairs by moms new boyfriend. I'm glad today was Sunday I was in no mood to go school. I rolled over to my side and saw a note card with two pills and a glass of water. I picked up the note card and it read:

Hey sweetie me and Harry went out for breakfast. Be home around 3:30. Got some errands to run. Moneys on the counter and I put some pills by your bed side. Have a nice day, I love you.

Love: Mom :)

I took the pills and got in the shower. I guess I got the house to myself. Yay! When I got out of the shower I went and made scrambled eggs, toast and bacon. I ate while watching TV. I decided to get some laundry done and get things ready for school tomorrow.

It was now 6:00pm and I began to worry. I texted and called her twenty times now with no reply. Where the hell was she! I decided to order pizza with the money mom gave me and wait for her.

The pizza arrived at 7:30 so I grabbed a slice and started to watch Netflix. It was getting really late. I decided to call mom again and still no answer. Maybe I should go look for her. I put the rest of the pizza away and grabbed my keys.

After driving down every single street I found no one. I began to turn around to go back home when I seen someone laying in the street. I pulled up to the sidewalk and ran over to the body. Turning the body I seen her.
