The Storms Around Us

The storms around us
Giving us darkness
Surrounding with guilt
Feeding the plants
Full of water
Striking us with lighting
The storms around us
Make us shelter inside
Take our home
And out from the wilderness
Keeping ourselves safe
From the powerful beast
Within the storms
The storms around us
Come each year
Taking away lives of the innocent
Telling us to run away
Find a place where they can not harm
But will harm many
The storms around us
Cave us in
A way that we can't escape
Giving us a warmth
That hurts us through and through
Trying to flee
The storms around us
Have an eye
A clear one
Which is a path to freedom
A tough journey to it
But worth the struggle
The storms around us
Are not appreciated
They give life to earth
But give death too
But what would the world be
Without these storms
