Every year that passes
Follows another story
Ones sad
And some happy
Death follows
The ones who left you
Each tear that falls
Takes upon another
Grabbing another piece of you
Misery only a word you see every day
Every step you take
Followed by a shadow
Your past always there
To haunt you from far
Only hurting you more
Each mistake you make
Giving you another reason
To hate yourself
Wanting to leave
What you did
Every moment you make
Kept with you
Another piece added
Only to be broken
With another moment
Each day you finish
Ending with thoughts
Of everything
Filling you up
And not letting you sleep
Every leaf that falls
Another to be replaced
Changing color as it grows
Leaving what's left behind
Each life that leaves
A new born to begin
The ending really never coming
Always a beginning to follow
