1 week after moving to Redwood...

"Are you excited?" Susan asked Miley as she sipped her coffee.

"I guess." She shrugged. "I'm a bit nervous too."

"Well that's natural. First day of school is always nerve-wracking." Susan replied.

Miley simply nodded. Jack then came downstairs. He was on the phone with someone.

"OK. Thank you Mr. Johnson."

He hung up, then greeted his family with a smile. "Hey good morning."

"Good morning." Susan greeted.

"Morning dad."

He made his way over to his wife who was sitting around the dining table. He kissed her on the cheek, then did the same to his daughter, before making his way into the kitchen to grab his breakfast.

"Was that Mr. Johnson?" Susan asked.

"Ahh yes." He responded, as he made his way into the dining room and sat down.

Mr. Johnson was the principal of Redwood High.

"He said that Miley--" he focused on Miley "--will be shown around the school today."

"So my classes will officially begin tomorrow?" Miley asked.

Jack nodded before taking a sip of his coffee. "Yes."

"OK." She smiled.

"I can drop you off there before work, if you'd want that." Jack suggested.

Miley nodded. "Thanks dad."

He responded with a smile, and they continued eating. Afterwards, Miley got ready for school and waited in the living room for her father.

The new house they now lived in was about the same size as their previous house in Rockbridge. However, the outside was painted blue and white rather than grey and white. The house had a living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, a basement, and a garage for two cars. It was quite a comfortable spot, and after one week of moving in, they were well-aquainted with the house.

Jack finally came from upstairs whilst tying his tie.

"Ready?" He asked her, and she nodded in response.

Susan was in the kitchen cleaning up. He made his way there to give her one last kiss before leaving, but Miley followed him.

"Mom, dad." She called out.

"Yes dear?" Susan responded.

Miley paused for a while, then spoke. "I...I was wondering if I could have Adam's car."

Jack and Susan looked at each other, then back at Miley.

She continued. "...since no one is using it. I just...I want to feel closer to him since he's...gone, and I think that driving his car would make me feel better."

Her parents both smiled at her, then Jack responded. "Of course Miley. Of course you can have it."

"And I'm sure he would have wanted you to." Susan added.

Miley's smile widened, and she nodded.

"I'll have Charlie deliver it here." Jack stated.

"OK."

He then kissed his wife. "Come on." He gestured to Miley. "Don't want you to be late on your first day."

"Technically, it's not my first day dad." She responded.
